Re: [SOGo] NEW integrator extension 10.0.3

Hi,

while http://www.sogo.nu/english/downloads/frontends.html still states
SOGo Integrator Thunderbird extension Version 10.0.3 (released on
July 26th 2012) this is linked to a file
sogo-integrator-10.0.3-sogo-demo.xpi30-Oct-2012 09:48 151K

in http://www.sogo.nu/files/downloads/extensions/
So this is silently updated.

I know because I was informed by the bugtracker
http://sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=1977

This might be useful to others, too.

Dear Sogo-Team, why do you don't make this more publicly, while
everyone downloading the extension now, is getting it anyway?

Hi,

yes there's an self-signed cert.

I thought its already added, because on first connect to SOGo

To my knowledge thunderbird from version 10 on needs a trusted signed

Did you call that URL yourself to see what the server is returning (especially the URL for the plugin file is important)

What about lightning? That old 1.0b2 version won't work with the new
plugins. You need to upgrade to 1.2. Also, the lightning upgrade needs
to be specified on an architecture basis. See
http://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGo%20Mozilla%20Thunderbird%20Configuration.pdf
for the specifics.

I'm wondering what people recommend on

  Do I start with having my updates.php file push the new sogo

  won't run on tb3.1? Then they do an update on TB (from inside
  TB) and new sogo integrator installs automatically? But with
  this, they have TB10, not TB10ESR... how can I change that?
  Also, they will still need to install lightning manually,
  right? Do I grab the latest lightning release and put it in my
  plugins.php list / on my webserver so I push that to them too?
  How does that work for lightning updates? I have to manually
  update (all versions of) lightning then? Or is there a way to
  push to the clients to get lightning added through thunderbird
  channels?

  Or do I uninstall TB3.1 on each machine and then install
  TB10ESR, add lightning plugin (through TB) and manually
  install sogo integrator? The seems cleanest, but most labor
  per machine.

  Also, do people recommend using a new update url
  (updates10.php) for the new integrator so it can push
  different plugins than the old tb3.1 sogo integrator? I
  remember doing this on the TB2-TB3 transition.

  Thanks,

Hi,

- i upgraded thunderbird (no uninstalling)
- skipped the upgrade of lightning (because there were issues when
lightning was active but sogo plugins were disabled).
- once tb 10 was up, i installed sogo plugins and lightning.
- et voil

one thing i mentioned, my ldap search is working again... :)

Hello everybody,

GNUstepDefaults . As you can see in the documentation the
configuration has a serialized property list format, but the pre-set
config-file is obviously in xml-format. In my opinion that's a
discrepance and it confuses me.
Anyway I put all the stuff I found in the docu to the config-file.
After this I execute the command:

defaultsreadsogod something
and as a result the config-file was translated to xml.
I would like to understand what was happening and finaly I try to find

using the frontend (if possible).

I hope someone can help me.

[SOGo] adding group functionality to existing SOGo 1.3.9 running on Ubuntu 10.04 x64

2011-11-23 Thread Jürgen Echter

Hi,

i installed SOGo before group support was integrated, but now i want to
have this feature too.

can anybody tell me what i have to add to my existing .GNUstepsDefaults
if i want to use groups?

I read the documentation, but i fear that i break my whole system,
because im not so familiar with LDAP and co... :)

my understanding is that i have to define the groups entry into my ldap
directory and to tell SOGo how to use them.

my ldap tree looks the following:

cn=admin
dc=workgroup,dc=local
ou=sogo-users
ou=groups (used for samba groups also)
ou=computers
ou=idmap
ou=smb-usr

i would use this ldap-file:

dn: cn=admin,ou=groups,dc=workgroup,dc=local
objectClass: groupOfUniqueNames
objectClass: top
objectClass: extensibleObject
uniqueMember: uid=user1,ou=sogo-users,dc=workgroup,dc=local
uniqueMember: uid=user2,ou=sogo-users,dc=workgroup,dc=local
uniqueMember: uid=user3,ou=sogo-users,dc=workgroup,dc=local
cn: admin
structuralObjectClass: groupOfUniqueNames
mail: j.ech...@echter-kuechen-elektro.de

and add this to my .GNUstepDefaults:

{
CNFieldName = cn;
IDFieldName = cn;
UIDFieldName = cn;
baseDN = ou=groups,dc=workgroup,dc=local”;
bindDN = cn=sogo,ou=services,dc=workgroup,dc=local;

where does the ou=services come from, also where does cn=sogo come from?

bindPassword = *mypass*;
canAuthenticate = YES;
displayName = “SOGo Groups”;
hostname = 127.0.0.1;
id = sogo_groups;
isAddressBook = YES;
port = 389;
}

is this right and enough?

i don't really get how to define which user is in which group?

also my configuration file looks different than the one shown in the
documentation.

I hope someone is willing to tell me what to do?

here is my .GNUstepDefaults:

hmm...

is it good or o.k. to mix nightly sope packages with stable sogo?

Well no, but I had no option really . Also the stable packages are
only 4 days older than the nightlies, so probably I imagine will have
changed very little ..

Hopefully inverse will release 1.3.9a to address this properly, as its
a real showstopper using tasks with MySQL. They say its 'Resolved',
fixed in 1.3.10 but that's not something that's released yet ..

It authenticates, and then you go to the Advanced Settings and change the

setup, because iOS seems to overwrite this setting continually. But once I
changed this, the calendars showed up in Calendar app list.

BTW, I am following the vhost apache setup as detailed on page 42/43 of the
admin guide on port 443 (and 8443).

But, the sync seems to only work iOS Calendar -- SOGo web (e.g. posting),
whereas no information is read back (e.g. events created in the web gui never
show up in iOS). I am still getting the 401 error (these entries repeat of

I will continue to work on this, as I'd love to use SOGo, and iPhone
integration is essential. I'll update the thread if I find out what I am doing
wrong.

Hi,

i have sync settings in ios set to push, this works here. one of our ios
setups shows a behaviour that your events are not shown in the day view
but in the week view. but this is only with one of our iphone's.

port 993, ssl, imap.
SOGo doesn't do certificate validation so it doesn't care if it's
self-signed or not.

Thunderbird might work over 993 because it might try TLS instead of
SSL on that port if SSL fails. SOGo will not.

Is your IMAP server exposed on the Internet? If so, give me the FQDN.

Also, retry the openssl s_client command I pasted using that FQDN on

Re: [SOGo] Lightning via updates.php / i don't get it...

2011-11-02 Thread Jürgen Echter

Am 02.11.2011 11:25, schrieb André Schild:

Hello Jürgen,

remove the win32 from the lighting, both in the file and in the update
script.

  = array( application = thunderbird,
   version = 1.0b2.106i,
   filename = lightning-1.0b2.106i.xpi ));

and rename the file lightning-1.0b2.106i_win32.xpi to
lightning-1.0b2.106i.xpi.
The folder is then automagically selected based on the platform your
tb is running.
