[SOGo] Contact synchro

Hello,

When i delete a contact in Sogo, my contact doesn't want to delete on 
the other clients connected to (Thunderbird, iphone(carddav)) EAS is 
activated.


Is it normal ?


When i add a contact, everything is replicated in both directions.

Dear Jérôme

Active Sync works well if you have a limited (not millions) number of users, it 
just requires more server ressources (we have a Cloud based environment for 
thousand of mailboxes)

For Outlook, our users use the free Outlook Caldav Synchronizer

There’s an active sync package on SOGo as this is not mandatory and a lot of 
deployment just use CALDav/Cardav with Thunderbird, MailMac, iPhone or Android, 
it’s just more efficient than ActiveSync

As long as that is linked to 1.24, it will break. Does you distribution
also offer that old version?
If not, you can't do anything about it and SOGo must be fixed to not
link against that version for RHEL9.

Try this:

cd /usr/ports/www/sogo && make deinstall
cd /usr/ports/devel/sope && make deinstall
cd  /usr/ports/www/sogo && make install clean
delete all files in /var/log/sogo # That is where I store my sogod logs
service sogod start
Look at sogo.log now and tell us what it says.

I am running 5.8 on FreeBSD 13.2 (yes, I upgraded just the other day 
from 13.1)

Currently we support ThunderBird 102 & >, SOGo connector is not fully compliant 
(only Caldav), but seems that 106 will drastically change

We are trying to improve this

Now, looking at your captured error, it would appear that you have a 
problem with caching and that problem lies with memcached, because 
that is where caching is done.
On FreeBSD which I believe you are familiar with, you can do one of 
two things:
1. Log all queries to memcached. You do this by adding -vvv (the 
number of v's depend on the verbosity you want) to memcached_flags in 
rc.conf and restarting memcached.

    I'd also try and give Memcached a little more RAM to use with -m 128


In /etc/rc.conf :

memcached_enable="YES"
memcached_flags="-vvv -m 128"


2. Capture these queries in it's own file by adding a specific logging 
config to /etc/syslog.conf:


!memcached
*.* /var/log/memcached.log #please touch this file!
Then restart syslogd with: kill -HUP `cat /var/run/syslog.pid`

From there, for every entry about caching in sogo.log, check for a 
corresponding entry in memcached.log.

Hopefully, you will nail the problem by deducing a solution.

The fact that you are using MySQL means if you logged MySQL events, 
you'd catch  every

access and every change, no?

I would turn ON all debug and look for clues on the dates the 
deletions happen. Just ensure you have sane values for your environment.

I'm trouble with a customer where i installed SOGO for a while.

The installation were on FreeBSD 13.1 with mysql 80.

My customer have 80 mails boxes and shared calendars between with them 
with Outlook 2021 and EAS.



The trouble is that events is deleted sometimes (it isn't deleted from 
users).


this problem appeared since Sogo 5.4 we are in version 5.8 now.

No log on servers...

my customer is very disappointed because it wants to migrate do Exchange 
if the problem doesn't resolve.

you are not using localhost for your SQL Connection: is the database really on 
a different machine? If not: is it set to accept connections from any other IP 
than localhost?

Having said this we are still in a transition phase where Inverse will support

Oh. That’s sounds like an issue. I’ve been using SOGo for many, many years with 
multiple users and don’t think my DB is bigger than 100MB. Sounds like 
something is wrong.

I would probably look at the data and see why it is so large. I bet it’s one 
user that has a malfunctioning client.

When i setup sogo comunicator by following the instructions on github 
the tools don't ask user username and pass ?


i thought the sogo-communicator catch the account

we are in an enterprise configuration with people who want to share 
several calendar (up to 20 dif cal per user)not only the personal one.

so continue on the webmail everything is right ans good.

A day sogo beat Exchange.

[SOGo] - Entreprise Active sync issue

Here's my configuration :


Sogo 5.5.1

Apache24

Mysql80



I have a problem with sogo and active sync, i can log with all users but 
when i go to "preferences" i have a proxy error :




The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request

Hi ,

So i invistigate to the side of Dovecot, and indeed it was a 
misconfiguration.


i reply to all the config that would be usefull for others too:

i remind that i have sogo postfix and dovecot on FreeBSD

I use Virtual user with ldap auth and the configuration needed is that :


If your mails are send via lmtp protocol or lda activate the plugin 
sieve in the apropriate file :


in my case it is lmtp so edit file *20-lmtp.conf *and add sieve plugin :


protocol lmtp {
  # Space separated list of plugins to load (default is global 
mail_plugins).

  mail_plugins = $mail_plugins *sieve*
}


Then,

*dovecot.conf* basic sieve conf :

## Sieve Configuration

service managesieve-login {
  inet_listener sieve {
    port = 4190

protocol sieve {
    managesieve_max_line_length = 65536
    managesieve_implementation_string = dovecot

in the *90-sieve.conf* :

 add :

And to tell Dovecot to send autoreply you must activate the protocol 
*submission* and precise the *relay* host in dovecot.conf :


protocols = imap lmtp *sieve* *submission*

submission_host = mx.domain.com:25


and for me everything it works.

Don't hesitate to active *mail_debug = yes *in 10-logging.conf to see 
any details.



For me a connection refuse to send reply to localhost (my postfix is on 
an another host )

The "my-rootCA.crt" in your example is my imapcert.pem in my command ?

Your self signed certificate is a CA certificate :-)

On FreeBSD you have to:
sudo cp my-rootCA.crt /etc/ssl/certs/
sudo chmod 0644 /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt
sudo chown root:wheel /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt
sudo openssl x509 -noout -hash -in /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt

The last command gives you some String, e.g. 5d3b9418
Use that in the following command:
sudo ln -s /etc/ssl/certs/my-rootCA.crt /etc/ssl/certs/5d3b9418.0

That's it.

Of course you have to do that for both self signed certificates from
your two servers.

You have to tell your OS, which CA you use.

Which OS are you using?

In Debian you have to add it by:
sudo cp my-rootCA.crt /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/
sudo update-ca-certificates

the file sogo-apache.conf, the path wasn't correct : for Freebsd here is 
the good one a / missed between Library and SOGO

I am a newbie to Sogo and i installed it (v.5.3) on a FreeBSD 13 box via 
port tree.


i configure sogo.conf and when i want to launch the sogod service, here

I'm trying to subscribe to my Facebook events calendar.
The calendar appears in the Web calendar section but it does not show
any event. I have no issues subscribing to it from Thunderbird, Gnome
calendar or Evolution.

    the revert resolve the issue, I found a workaround for this problem 
: It appear that the problem occur (for us) when you come to sogo from 
another wesite with a link with target="_blank". adding : rel="noopener 
noreferrer nofollow" resolve the issue

I guess we have to deal with the fact that EAS is not an option anymore.

OpenChange is probably the best way to replace EAS. Too bad, it was easy to

as a surprise..


so here's how to downgrade office so you can add your account, once you
added your account upgrade office again :)

open cmd.exe as admin.

## note the version number 'June 13, 2017 Version 1705 (Build 8201.2102)'

~# officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.8201.2102

open 'Control Panel > Mail'  and click on New account  and we have
the old ui back :) :)

once your account is added start outlook 2016,

this works for me, hope this will help, i know not user friendly but it
works

I've the last stable version and your guide is not working anymore. The GUI 
has changed and you can no longer configure any EAS account manually.

Hi,

I've setup a couple of Outlook 2016's by manually configuring
activesync. It seems Microsoft has removed that feature, and now
REQUIRES autodiscovery.

According to the manual, autodiscovery is not supported in SOGo. That
means Outlook 2016 activesync is not supported in SOGo.

Is there anything I can do to get this going?

[SOGo] Searching for a fail2ban filter configlet that checks the authentication of CardDAV/CalDAV

designed for the SOGo Login Page?

Thank you Christian for the suggestions, to recap:
  .SOGoEnableEMailAlarms is enabled
  .OCSEMailAlarmsFolderURL is configured
  .Table for OCSEMailAlarmsFolderURL exist and entries can be found
  .Cron job is enabled and entries can be found in the log

In regards to the SMTP services, no authentication is required for the
cron job: sogo-ealarms-notify, see below postfix configurations.

# Services202 - Gateway SMTP relay to Services210, no authentication required
smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = no
relayhost = [Services210] 

# Services210
# 192.168.2.240/28 includes above Services202, no authentication required

The Reminder 'Show an Alert' works. The problem is when I select reminder
'Send an E-mail'. I see no mail log entries in Services202. I do not know
how to make the cron job: sogo-ealarms-notify more verbose.

I have been attempting to have my setup send email calendar notifications
since I have converted my setup to use SOGo version 3 to no avail. The
calendar notifications works fine which makes me think that my server
email services functionality might be defective?

My mail setup runs on two Centos 7 servers. The SOGo Version version:3.2.8
front end and the sogo-ealarms-notify cron jobs runs on the Gateway
server. The second server runs the postfix, cyrus, ldap & the DB services.
Since the cron notification job run on the Gateway I have another postfix
smtp service that relays the emails to the second server.

I have tested both servers by submitting emails and that works fine via
the command line. I have looked at the email log for email jobs that would
have been launched by the sogo-ealarms-notify cron job and none can be
found?

Some news for this bug.

With the webmail (SOGo 3.1.4 and 3.1.5), we don't have the problem.

With Thunderbird 38.7.0 and 45.3.0 on SOGo 3.1.4, we have the problem...

The bug can be in the SOGO Connector, Integrator or Lightning ? How can I
help to find more information ?

[SOGo] Apt-get upgrade after SOGo compilation

Hi,

We compiled SOGo and SOPE on Debian Jessie. Everything works fine except
the following point.

When we do an "apt-get upgrade", we have always this error:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 sogo : Depends: libsbjson2.3 (>= 4.9.r1664.20160708) but 4.9.r1664 is
installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.

If we do an "apt-get -f install", it wants to uninstall SOGo...

Do you have an idea to remove this warning ?

I search to know how email tags work... I want to find a solution to a
problem. I don't know if it is a SOGo,  Thunderbird or Cyrus related bug...

User sets tags "To Do" or "Important" in Thunderbird. He saw tags in SOGo
webmail.
But sometimes, tags disappear, all the tags in his mailbox... And I don't
know why...

The first time the problem happens, I tought it was the upgrade to
Thunderbird 38.7.

We use SOGo 3.1.2 on Debian server with Cyrus (version 2.4.17) and
Thunderbird  38.7.0.

Any hints ?

[SOGo] Alarm on iPhone problem (SOGo 3.0.2)

Hi,

My users have problems with reminders/alarm on iPhone 5s with SOGo 3.0.2.
The iPhone are new for us.

They have a lot of subscriptions (other user on the same SOGo server ) for
calendar.  On the iPhone, they see all the reminders of all calendar
subscriptions.

On the webmail and Thunderbird, they don't have this problem.

There is a setup on the iPhone to show only reminder on personnal calendar ?

Unfortunately, I don't have a iPhone for tests and learning how it works ...

[SOGo] sogo-tool remove-doubles

Hi,

In the documentation, sogo-tool remove-doubles is for contacts only. There
is a way with sogo-tool to delete duplicate events ?

A Blackberry push a lot of existing events many times (up to 1800 times
(copies) for one event !)
The events have the same c_startdate  and same c_enddate but not the same
title (encoding problem with accented letter)

Problem 3

You have not yet updated to 38.3.0 and you have calendar addon ENABLED.
Let's assume you might encounter a problem during update. Before you
update let's change some settings and capture information in case you do
encounter a problem.

1) Use "Config Editor" found at Options | Advanced | General and paste
in the name extensions.logging.enabled - set it to true (double click
the preference to change value to true)
2) In addons manager manually do "Check for Updates". If you are using
Thunderbird 38.2.0 you should have Lightning to 4.0.2.1. If necessary,
restart and have that update apply.
3) Zip the "pre update" data as described in section B above and save them.
4) Check for application updates in the About box (aka Help | About),
which will download and install 38.3.0. Restart for that to apply.
5) Now is when you may see unresponsive buttons/menu, or missing
Thunderbird UI or folder lists as described at
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1211291 If you do NOT see
problems skip to step 9.
6a) Zip up the data described in section B above and save as "post
update" data.

Some users complain that calendar order change over time in Thunderbird.
For exemple, he sets the order :

Calendar A
Calendar B
Calendar C
Calendar D
(...over 20 calendars)

One morning without notice, he starts Thunderbird and the calendar order is
:

Calendar B
Calendar D
Calendar A
Calendar C
( ... )

Do you know why ? She uses sometimes the SOGo webmail too ...

We use Thunderbird 31.2.0, SOGo Connector and Integrator 31.0.0, Lightnin
3.3.1 with SOGo 2.2.17a.

Look for "SOGoFirstWeekOfYear" in the documentation (page 39) to setup SOGo
installation...

It works for colors... For the calendar, I have all "%{FolderName}
(%{UserName} <%{Email}>)" ...  But, for the tests, I didn't restore other
user's calendar, so I think it's normal... I'll make other tests soon...

There is a option to restore all users in the restore folder?
I use this command :
sogo-tool restore -F ALL /folder1/sogo-restore username

I have only 60 users ... but someone with 2 users can't do this 2
times... ;-)

[SOGo] calendar subscription problem after migration

I'm testing migration from SOGo 2.2.17 to a new server with SOGo 2.3.2.
Both servers are on Debian: Squeeze and Jessie

I use a backup made with sogo-tool.

When I restore data, everything looks good except  my subscription to other
calendar and my different colors for my calendar.

Do I need to do something to have subscriptions and colors ?

[SOGo] autocreate personnal calendar

Hi,

Fresh install SOGo (2.3.1) on Debian Jessie.

I connect SOGo to our LDAP directory.

In older version, personnal calendar were created automatically. Now, if i
want to subscribe to a user calendar, I have no possible subscription.
The user never login to this test server. But for the test, I need his
calendar

I don't see the option in the documentation.

Can I create automatically calendar as older version ?
