By default, SOGo will query each source until a match is found, even if domains are defined. The only difference is when the parameter SOGoEnableDomainBasedUID is defined, in which case the authentication will be limited to the user sources associated to the specified domain (either extracted from the login name or the domains select field when enabled using the SOGoLoginDomains parameter). Over the last hour I have reverted to a basic LDAP auth with UID, instead of binding with mail then authing with UID and it appears to be stable so far (fingers crossed). I'm thinking it may well have been an LDAP auth issue as I was getting intermittent login failures too - if it's failed while I was authed then that would explain the kick-out and then inability to log back in. I'll monitor this UID-based login for a couple of days and then work out what next.

Re: [SOGo] SMTP TLS verification
Hi, You could add the external hostname to /etc/hosts, which then would resolve to localhost again. Alternatively, you could also make the non-TLS port bind on localhost only, in this way it isnt exposed externally (passing -o smtp_bind_address in master.cf). Thus when using internal addressing for this server the certificate verification fails when submitted to by SOGo. Is there a way to accept insecure non-localhost? Otherwise I have to open submission port externally and loop back to it, which is not a preferred option.

[SOGo] Evaluate SOGo
I'm looking to evaluate SOGo, but am a bit confused by the documentation at sogo.nu. That documentation at https://www.sogo.nu/files/docs/SOGoInstallationGuide.html says "In order to access the production builds, you need a proper support contract from Alinto. Continue with the configuration once you received your username and password." The link from that text results in a 404 error, so that is a dead-end (points to https://sogo.nu/support/index_new.html#support-plans) I found an article through the FAQs about nightly builds - is that the way to install without a support contract? -- Simon Wilson M: 0400 12 11 16

I used SOGo’s guide and it worked for now but Ubuntu will change it in the future. My only issue is I can’t get a connection to my MySQL database running on the same box. I’ve done the database configuration for Utf8mb4 and the database is listening on localhost but it still won’t connect. [SOGo] Fwd: Sync problem
(forked from here) https://forum.iredmail.org/topic19689-new-sync-problems-thread.html So at least in my case, I'm running SOGO on a mail server with only 1 account. It gets thousands of messages per day. I had to upgrade the SOGO memory size limit to 10G, it uses about 3G according to the logs. I was trying to duplicate the old Outlook/Exchange workflow. Add rules to Outlook (no concern for whether they run on the server or the client) and let them manage the mailbox on the server. This means hundreds of messages are moved upon receipt to correct subfolders. Messages are deleted automatically, classified as spam automatically, etc. Later if a message in a subfoolder is manually moved, the expectation is that it updates the main server and all other AS clients. As the mailbox has grown, this does not seem to work... many messages seem to just be ignored or missed. So in a normal day, there are hundreds of automatic alerts that come in... probably 20 of them are moved according to outlook, but the SOGO box does not seem them as moved. If a message is moved in a sub-sub-folder in outlook, it does not necessarily get updated in SOGO's view. With Roundcube running on the same maibox infrastructure, its view and SOGO's view are not the same. By SOGO's view, I'm referring to the web client -- this may or may not be AS related. I can provide logs, or make other tests or adjustments, just need some suggestions on where to look. Thanks in advance! -- FF

Re: [SOGo] Changing default user settings
Hi, To enable by default desktop notifications add SOGoDesktopNotifications = 1; into sogo.conf. All new users should have notifications enabled. For existing users, you have to set preferences with sogo-tool. it is exactly the same for mail composition : SOGoMailComposeMessageType = "text"; Sebastien Le Mercredi, Mars 15, 2023 15:37 CET, "Federico J" (fede...@yahoo.com.ar) a écrit: Hello, new SOGo user here!I've just deployed SOGo and would like to set a different default value for user settings which are in Preferences . For example, for new users the default value for "Compose messages in" is "HTML", I'd like the default for all users to be "Plain text".Or to enable desktop notifications by default. For what I read these settings are not set on sogo.conf. Is there any way to do this?Thank you!!
