Hello friends,
Since my main job (after 30 years at IBM as a systems engineer) is running a
50-piece wind band (I would love to give a sample of it in the U.S., England,
etc., etc.!)
I don't have the time to do any compiles at the moment - even though I do
feel confident I could do so. I have
Hi, I just joined the list on Monday so I am not across all the various
protocols yet. Like, I don't know whether you have to put your hand up for this
sort of thing or just do it.
Nevertheless, I am 2/3 of the way through chapter 3 and I have made some
notes/changes to the doc. I could very

Wow!! Thanks :) Generally you can just write comments to whichever list as

whole lot in one go is probably better but is not easy!
However, given the amount of work you have done it would be ideal if you

Ah, so if it's never been touched by MSO is you Odt version as up-to-date as
your Doc version? It's best to do all editing in the Odt and then only save a
snapshot for sharing as Doc but then keep editing the Odt rather than the Doc.

Ahah, if AbiWord, or any other OpenSource office program, reads it fairly
well then there is something wrong with LibreOffice. It is very unusual for
LO to have such an extreme reaction to a file.

Hi :)
Ouch, sorry :( If it's any comfort it was the same for me. Back then people
were adamantly telling me that i should do things that way and i adamantly
refused to take any notice and tried to stick with MS formats not realising how
capricious they seem to be.

Sorry for the lack of responses. Have you been able to solve this yet?
There is a chapter on Macros in the Getting Started guide on
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications
and further down is some excellent 3rd party documentation on macros by
Andrew Pitonyak.

Went through the documentation found at that link. Mostly, it seems to
be for OpenOffice, and the configuration files that the docs mention
don't seem to exist for LibreOffice.
Surely there must be an XML configuration file somewhere where some
options for Save As Type can be deleted or commented
I seem to have found where the configuration takes place, and how to change it.

The XML configuration files are found at C:\Program Files

They are named for the program they control, ex.:
