1. You have a typo in your hosted-engine deploy line as you do not enclose
the quotes correctly:

Yes, that is how I am getting the message saying it cannot confirm host has
been rebooted because it isn't in a valid state.

Hi All,
I thought I'd post this since there's a few extra steps specific to oVirt Node.

Hi there,
I updated hosted ovirt engine from within VM.
At first I updated OS - yum update.
Then rebooted VM.
After VM booted again, I found out I cannot access GUI.
Then I found out I had to run engine-setup even when updating between
releases.
So then I put cluster in global maintenance

Hello,
I'm just writing my experiences in case others have come across similar issues
or have a similar configuration.
I have a single PC, well iMac, home lab environment with VMware Fusion 12.x for

deployed on an oVirt
As I suspected, it hits where i mentioned, but looking again, there's no
bug whatsoever as it should skip it.

Hi,
I can confirm that this was the postgresql-jdbc issue.
After doing a downgrade, I succeeded to continue the installation.
All my oVirt nodes are upgraded, VM’s, Cluster and Datacenter as well.
The reason for not upgrading directly to 4.5, was that it was not GA when we
started.
I will let

Hello,
I’ve researched a bit about this problem, but none of the proposed solutions
fixed it. I’m trying to deploy Ovirt 4.5.0.1 in my lab, and the installation
fails with the following error:

Hi,
I have to scan our 18 nodes with a virus scanner and I have to provide the

This nodes have no internet connection and they will not get it.
Which software I should use? Clamav?
I can shutdown each single node and can scan but I would prefer to have it as

You must not use localhost.Check A/ and PTR records for the engine.

It shouldn't resolve the localhost.Check the engine's FQDN resolves properly
(A/ records) and the IP resolves properly to the FQDN of the engine (PTR
record).

Hello,
I downloaded the oVirt node and installed it on my server. DNS etc. I made the
settings.
It is possible to have a fully offline installation, you just need the
files either installed or fetch them from a local repo.
Yes, you are using an outdated version of the ovirt ansible collection.
The final fix for offline deployment was implemented in v2.0 of the ovirt
ansible collection, this
Can you provide the error ?Also host removal has a 'Force' flag, but I assume

You can install software via the rpm-ostree . Yet,if this was RHV - you would
loose support if you install additional software.Keep in mind that oVirt nodes
are more an appliance than a regular Linux system and such security rules
should not affect appliances.

Sorry for the delay, my mail client missed this one.
The ovirt-release.rpm package contains the ovirt-*.repo
files which define the mirrorlists used to install / update oVirt's
packages for that specific major and minor version of oVirt.
The ovirt\*setup\* packages only contain the files needed
No. The CentOS repos are controlled by the centos-stream-repos package,
but I would not recommend installing that package on a non CentOS
Stream system, as you would have conflicting packages and would most
likely break your underlying system.
