Does anybody have an experience with the MSD Shift Light that Dale Walker
sales? Does it work? Is it worth the money? Are you satisfied with it?
Thanks,

I have read about the shift light from other max owners, they say its real
nice. with as fast as our maxes get up and go, you definitely should get one
if you like getting your rpm's up there. you well know when you punch the
throttle on max you dont have time to look at your tach

Hey Kraig
Yeah, I did a few things to my bike :) It has been bored and
stroked and heads ported/polished, cams replaced, Chain drive
conversion. 1500 long rod motor, and 41mm downdraft carbs. I think that
i am going to start shifting at 9900 from here on out based on the dyno
curve. Which
H,,, Perhaps a little Devils Advocate here. I installed my MSD shift
light and I paid 75 for it. and 25 for the rpm modules. The thing works
good but it needs a custom bracket. My friend happens to be a machinist
so he made me a nice one out of aluminum. My bike does not see the kind
of miles
I ordered mine form Walker before I found you guys. I got ripped off! All he does is
order the light from MSD, clip the four wires, and double the price.
You are a freekin mad man. The tack redlines at 9500 RPM's. Have you done any mods
to the lower end to be constantly hitting these
Have you ever thought of reversing your shift pattern. I used to always grab neutral
instead of second and could never find neutrial when I wanted until I did this. Just
a thought.

Some one asked me where I got my shift light. Right now I have a MSD = $175. I do
not recomend this light to anyone. They require a "pill" to set the RPM. These are @
$38 for a pack of five that are 100 RPM incriments. This light is not made for bikes.
A good rain show
I have the same setup. 9000rpm light with a 9500 rev limit. Works for me. Ive been
known to miss a gear or two. Thanks Dyna! Hey Tyler. TC's has my latest dyno runs. Ask
him to email to you. I'm in New Jersy for the week.

This is true the MSD draws minimal, but I was just trying to have a safety margine.
The headlight line will take 180watts. I have 155 watts(street fighter headlights)+ 9
watts(meters lights)+ wire resistance ?# watts + power to run the meters ?# watts +
power for the MSD ?# watts = 164+
I might just get one of those.
