I think the answer depends on where you are getting the 5.5.3 software from.

If it is from CVS on SourceForge...
Yes it is complete. It is well tested with cdb, lightly tested

Hi all,
We have moved to qmail / vpopmail completely and it's working very well for our needs.
We run a control panel written (in-house) in php which used to take care of adding /
deleting users before we had moved to vpopmail.
The new mail server however works in a jailed freebsd environment

Basically, it does mean that vpopmail isn't able to chdir() to the
vpopmail/domains directory which can be caused by either wrong

I have courier-imap configured to use the vpopmail libraries,
should I re compile that once I've reinstall vpopmail just incase

I guess
developing a
php interface to vpopmail/qmail, I'd start by running a second instance of
apache dedicated to the project with the user and group of vpopmail. This
should alleviate your permission problems.

Yes
I wasn't aware that PHP only did this
I assumed it would take over the suexec user/group
I'll give it a go, having a server running on a non-standard port.
Cheers,

Yes. I can confirm all this. Including that the separate instance of
apache running as vpopmail:vchkpw works wonders

attention
to suexec, it always operates as the user

I'm fairly certain this has to do with the new restrictive permissions
put on the vpopmail libs and/or lib directory that I've read about in
the changelog.

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lvpomail

Ciao Gianni
Solution:
chmod 755 ~vpopmail/lib
chmod 644 ~vpopmail/lib/libvpopmail.a

PS This is on the list archive many times.

It seems not to be the same problem of courier-imap.
