[vchkpw] istn´t allowed rcpthosts error

2003-10-14 Thread Oliver Etzel - GoodnGo.COM \(R\)
Hello,

How can I start qmail-smtpd smtp service by tcpserver so that
my customers which are relying from overall can relay.

I read selective relaying

But what can I do now?

edit /etc/tcp.smtp and add 127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=
then issue 'qmailctl cdb'
Then issue 'qmailctl stop'
then '/home/vpopmail/bin/clearopensmtp'
now issue 'qmailctl start'

That got rid of the error message, but outgoing messages were still stuck in
the qmail queue. After lots of searching it transpired that that eth0 was
behaving unreliably, but only for outgoing trafic. My test-machine was an old
200 MHz Dell Optiplex. This is probably a Linus driver problem, as it ran Win
2000 without a hitch.

Anyway, I installed everything on a new machine and now it worked stright
away.

By the way, I am still curious about the role of /home/vpopmail/etc/tcp.smtp.

Try sending to remote users now and let us know.
Im sending this message via the new qmail/vpopmail setup.
Thanks for the help.

Sigmund.

 Hi all,

I've been using vpopmail for awhile now in conjunction with qmail and
recently i've been trying use vpopmails vuserinfo utility. When i
type vuserinfo -Q [EMAIL PROTECTED] it gives me an output that says
0%. It is my understanding that the -Q option displays quota usage,
and i know that this user has over 500 messages (all are marked
unread) in his box yet it says that 0% of his quota is used (which
happens to be 20MB). My question to you guys is what constitutes a
user's quota? Is vuserinfo the wrong utility to use to determine how
much of a user's quota remains?

no, it should do list the quota..

# ~vpopmail/bin/vuserinfo -Q [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2%

is shown at my box (vpopmail-devel-5.3.29-cvs), for a test user with a
100Kb quota, after i sent him a 2kb message.

habe a look at this file:
~vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com/user/Maildir/maildirsize

what does it show in your case?
also, which vpopmail version are you using?

[vchkpw] subdomain and ezmlm

2003-10-14 Thread David McMahon

Hi,

I created an ezmlm list [EMAIL PROTECTED], then created
a domain alias using vaddaliasdomain like this:

vaddaliasdomain sub.domain.com domain.com

But when I send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED], I get a returned
message with the following error:

ezmlm-reject: fatal: List address must be in To: or Cc: (#5.7.0)

Is there a workaround for this or perhaps a better way to do it
altogether?

I really just want [EMAIL PROTECTED] to work as if it just thought
sub.domain.com was equal to domain.com. I'm not even concerned about it
being a full domain alias.

Thanks for any ideas here!

David

Take a look at the man page for ezmlm-reject and then look at the editor
file for your list. The answers are in those 2 files.

[vchkpw] clearopensmtp

2003-10-14 Thread Brandon
I am getting an error when sending mail
the message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. Server Response: '553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of
allowed rcpthosts
So I found that I have to configure vpopmail to allow relaying by doing the
following.

# ./configure --enable-roaming-users=y

this is the out put I get

vpopmail directory = /home/vpopmail
   uid = 200
   gid = 200
ip alias = OFF --enable-ip-alias-domains=n (default)
address extentions = OFF --enable-qmail-ext=n (default)
 roaming users = ON --enable-roaming-users=y
tcpserver file = /etc/tcp.smtp
open_smtp file = /home/vpopmail/etc/open-smtp
user quota = OFF --enable-defaultquota=NOQUOTA default
table optimization = many domains --enable-many-domains=y default
   auth module = cdb default
system passwords = OFF --enable-passwd=n default
file locking = ON --enable-file-locking=y default
file sync = OFF --enable-file-sync=n default disable vdelivermail
fsync
auth logging = ON --enable-auth-logging=y default
mysql logging = OFF --enable-mysql-logging=n default
clear passwd = ON --enable-clear-passwd=y (default)
 valias processing = OFF --enable-valias=n
pop syslog = show only failure attempts
 --enable-logging=e default
default domain = --enable-default-domain=
  auth inc = -Icdb
  auth lib
# make
# make install-strip

Then I go to /home/vpopmail/bin/clearopensmtp

I still get this error
vpopmail not configure with --enable-roaming-users=y

also in my /etc/tcp.smtp I have
127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=

What am I doing Wrong??

Thanks,
Brandon

That'll do it. For anyone else with a similar problem it's
'ezmlm-reject -T' in the editor file.

Thanks.
