[vchkpw] What's wrong with my vdelivermail

2008-05-01 Thread Julien Escario
Hello,
Sorry to bother you, but I'm near-scratching my lastest hairs ...

Actually, I have a Qmail + Vpopmail server which *seems* to go very well, except
when a user is inexistant.
For exemple, when trying to send to [EMAIL PROTECTED], if foobar isn't a user
for
domain foo, the mail must be bounced or delete (depends on the choice in
.qmail-default), right ?

Ok, here, vdelivermail is holding (indefinitely) and not bouncing nor anything
(if at least it could die !).
So, the number of qmail-local processes increase ...
I have a very easy .qmail-default file :

| /var/lib/vpopmail/bin/vdelivermail '' delete

I tried it with and without trailing cr.
I must add I've moved this machine from 2.4 to 2.6 (probably a clue).

Declared mailboxes are delivered.

Any clue on what's happening ?

Julien (and his few last hairs)

What is showing in your logs?

Thanks for your answer.

I think it's my bigger problem : I have very few logs and I don't know to get
more verbosity without recompiling the whole vpopmail.

Actually, I have something like this :
@4000481a14ac35d2f41c starting delivery 812: msg 180014 to local
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
@4000481a14ac35d31744 status: local 9/10 remote 14/20

And no did after, nothing concerning delivery 812.
I was thinking to problem running qmail-queue :
myserver:/var/log/qmail-send# ls -lha /usr/sbin/qmail-queue
-rwsr-xr-x 1 qmailq qmail 8.5K Aug 18 2004 /usr/sbin/qmail-queue

setuid, is it right ?

AFAIK, after vdelivermail is called, nothing has to be done just redirect the
mail to /dev/null.

No really, I don't have any more idea.

Thanks for your help,
Julien

Oh, oh... thank you... indeed.

I always update my vpopmail with so a complete safety, than I never read

Very sorry for this.

Well, but... I have applied again auth patch and now it's impossible to
get that qmail remakes right. Errors and more errors are the only thing
I get. I used before this patch (and many others that it's used to be
usual to install), and I don't know whether qmail code is a mere mess of
patches now.

So I'm not a programmer or a code hacker, I will have to resign myself
to use vpopmail 5.4.0pre2 version... Moreover there is a thing you said
that disappoints me: [...] the first parameter to qmail-smtpd should
now be the path to vchkpw and not the hostname. What's does it mean?
Must I write the run command this way: /var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd
/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw myhost.com /bin/true 21?

I pledge your pardon for my every time more forgotten English. And of
course, I repeat my thanks, Tom.

No, just take 'myhost.com' out completely.

[vchkpw] what's wrong?

2004-02-03 Thread Alejandro Ortega Páez

I've just updated my vpopmail to new 5.4.0. I always install every new version you release.
But from 25.4.0-preX I have noticed authentication with cram-md5 passwords fails.
I hoped that installing the fresh stable 5.4.0 all this issue would leave apart, but it still continue.

I have had to reinstall 5.4.0pre2 because it's only the more recent version that works fine.

What is wrong in this versions? Is there any important change I have missed? All updates from
four years have always worked right, and it's a bit strange, isn't it?

Thank you, and I hope this question wouldn't be a mere repetition on this matter . I haven't had found anything related this one. If so, let me know. Sorry.

[vchkpw] What's wrong with this?

2002-10-02 Thread Alejandro Ortega Paez

Hi, everybody at Inter 7 and all list users,

I have recently had a problem when adding a new domain in a friend of
mine's server.
I also have to tell you that it is solved, but I would want to know the
cause and the meaning
of message error. Here you are:

Oct 2 20:49:08 an vpopmail[2497]: vchkpw-pop3: autocreate dir errno 13
/home/vpopmail/domains/e-nevado.ws/postmaster
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:192.168.0.2

Then the entry into /var/qmail/users/assign file was:

+e-nevado.ws-:e-nevado.ws:89:89:/home/vpopmail/domains/e-nevado.ws:-::

while the other domains or users have uid:gid 512:104.

Directories created was also with 89:89 uid:gid, and log error was
access denied.

Please, I would like to know why this has occurred. System passwd file
in /etc never has been changed and this
uid:gid (89:89) doesn't exist at all. I don't understand anything...

Thank you, as usual,
