Well, I use 5.3.20 with freebsd from ports too, without matts stuff...
I didnt use those scripts because I figured out if something goes wrong
then I would need to dig into them and figure out what the scripts did.
Well figure out which options those scripts use when it compiles vpopmail
5.3.20...

Ok... I tried this fix.
I edited vchkpw.c and removed the FOOB and ENDIF.
recompiled.
No luck. Same thing. Any password I put in still
works.
Thoughts?
Are you sure it recompiled properly?
Try 'make clean' then 'make'.

There is no way to enable this function in the FreeBSD port of vpopmail.
If you install from ports...
Thus it wouldnt be possible to enable that, unless matt's scripts do some
patches etc. over some things, yet I dont see why?!

Instead a person must use the script's actions as a reference point and
install himself those programs manually. Thus you can learn something too.
It is not only difficult to troubleshoot if something goes wrong, but also
if your customers want something which is not possible to
There's something about logging into virtual accounts with the order and
number of parameters in your smtp run file with the new(er) versions of
vpopmail. The parameter count changed and many online examples have
/bin/true one position too early. This has the effect of allowing all
passwords
I apologize for not reading enuf of the thread, this is a diff issue
than what I wrote.
Good luck. Sorry.
