Yes.
I use yacoto 0.3.0 http://www.muresan.de/vdr/yacoto/ on vdr 1.7.15

No problem here - working for more than one year at 64bit Debian (Sid-Lenny-

I finally find out what was wrong with my system: extension patch 77 for
vdr 1.7.0 put ko my hwr4000.
With this patch applied (vdr-1.7.0-ext_h264-s2ng-speedup.diff) to a
vanilla 1.7.0 source hwr4000 won't work.

On same system, vdr 1.6.0 and 1.7.7 work well.

If you want to use this card for both sat and dvb with vdr, I suggest
you to buy 2 different card, one sat(-S2) and one dvb-t or one sat-card
and one usb-stick for dvb-t.

PS: I hope someone misleading me so I might be able to use the full
functionality of this card.

[vdr] What is the best linux distribution for VDR?

2009-05-22 Thread Fabio Bordin

Last week arrived to me new hard disk I ordered so I reinstalled my os.

My goal is to have a updated linux system which let me see vdr throw
xineliboutput or xine.

I have a Skystar 1 and a Hauppauge HVR4000.

I did many tests without any success:
- Debian Sid 64(problem with alsa and remote)
- Archlinux 64 (problem with remote and no image throw xineliboutput)
- Sidux 32(problem with remote and no image throw xineliboutput)

I tried vdr version 1.7.0 and 1.7.7 with s2api driver.

I think my main problem is evdev and xorg: evdev let every device under
/dev/input/event* input in X: this mean that remote controlled by
HVR4000's ir can input directly to X.

Someone knows how to tell evdev to skip a particular /dev/input/event* ?
or how to disable evdev?

Configure vdr to not use keyboard input. Instead use the remote plugin
which can be configured with a specific input device.

My problem is that vdr and remote plugin wont configure at statup.

I explain better:
Fresh install, I copy *.conf file from vdr source dir to video dir.
There is no remote.conf file.
I start vdr from vdr-source dir with this comman: ./vdr
-Pxinelibpouput -p -Premote -i /dev/input/eventX

where eventX is the device i want to use to control my remote.

Vdr start but let me see only a black screen with no signal

No remote.conf created.

If I copy the remote.conf from xineliboutput's wiki, vdr let me use
keyboard if I start without remote plugin.

If I start with remote plugin vdr let me see only no-signal.
Last night even without remote plugin, vdr did not want to let me see tv.

In general, there's no perfect distro for bleeding edge vdr at the
moment, you'll need to compile most stuff.

Ok but if remote.conf don't exist or is empty it should start the learn
process.
My vdr with empty remote.conf or inexistent remote.conf DON'T start the
learn process.

Something I missed to tell: every vdr is patched with zulu's extension
patch.

[vdr] HVR4000 and multifrontend

2008-10-17 Thread Fabio Bordin
Hello,
I need help to use dvb-t in vdr.
Now I use s2api with multifrontend enabled compiled from
http://linuxtv.org/hg/~stoth/s2-mfe
(I also tried mfe patch against v4l version but i had same results)
With Kaffeine 0.8.3 I can use both frontends, dvb-s and dvb-t. It can
search channels and let me see dvb-t.
Vdr (1.6.0 and 1.7.1 patched) do not let me use dvb-t channel I scanned.
I also tried do double the adapter with these commands:

mkdir /dev/dvb/adapter1
ln -s /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend1 /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0
ln -s /dev/dvb/adapter0/net1 /dev/dvb/adapter1/net0
ln -s /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr1 /dev/dvb/adapter1/dvr0
ln -s /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux1 /dev/dvb/adapter1/demux0

but vdr continues to ignore dvb-t channels while Kaffeine continues to
work well.

Someone knows what I have to do to (finally) see dvb-t channel with vdr?

Tanks

[vdr] Black Screen with vdr 1.7.1

2008-10-05 Thread Fabio Bordin
Hi, in these days I tried new version of vdr 1.7.1 with the lastest
version of S2API.
I have an ss2 and a HVR-4000 card in my system.
I compiled and I installed correctly the lasted driver version (s2-mfe
first, then i tried s2 tree) but when I start vdr 1.7.1, it remains in
black screen even if I can see the osd.
I applied every patch posted in this ml.
I also tried vdr 1.7.0 patched and this version work.
Why vdr 1.7.1 remain black while vdr 1.7.0 works?

This is a summary of my system:
Debian Etch
Core 2 Duo E6750
Skystar 2
HVR-4000
vdr with softdevice and femon

With vdr-1.7.0 + S2, I have also been able to watch dvb-s channels (with
hdr-4000) but not dvb-t (with hvr-1300).

With vdr-1.7.1 both dvb-t and dvb-s channels fails also for me.
