We shared tapes between Netbackup and Omniback in the same library.
It seems to me the tapes needed to have ownership changed, so you could
set ownership for the Quamtum and a different ownership for NBU.
Ownership is handled by an ACSLS command set owner, etc

When a RMAN backup aborts with a status of 6, the error is usually in the
RMAN log somewhere. Usually the DBA's keep those logs.

One thing to check netbackup can do forward and reverse lookup.
If there is no DNS, it goes to the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

We evaluated NOM and found it to be of little use in our environment.
Aptare gives you historical data, and NBConsole gives current status, and
some historical info on backup status. Not to mention that is was
unstable at the time we evaluated is a couple of

I am not sure how you would get it from the master. The RMAN errors are
by client, and all that the master gets is a 6 error, or something like
that.
Our DBA's handle the RMAN errors on a case by case basis. The true cause
of the error is in the RMAN output many times which the master server

We had similar problems with some systems behind a firewall that could not
handle the backup traffic. Symantec gave us some
regristry hacks that changed how Windows handles TCP timeouts. It solved
our problem.
If you think it might help, let me know and I'll send the regristry hacks.
Here are the hacks
?The 10060 and 10054 errors in the NetBackup logs can be related to
dropped connections due to a timeout, which can occur quite often under
congested networks. It is possible to increase the likelihood of keeping
client connections alive in the event of temporary congestion

Have you verified your NIC settings from the client to the switch? In our
environment the GigE are autonegotiate, 100MB are full Duplex no auto
negotiate.
A mismatch between the Cleint's NIC and the switch can cause problems.

The 6.0MP 4 install should have created a /usr/openv/pack directory
that contains all the packs that have been installed.
