chuck Please ask the insurance co. If they will sell it back to you. That way you don't have to pay a markup to the junk yard. It doesn't have to be towed away or towed back to you. You should be able to find someone that will rebuild it for you at a cheaper rate then is charged to the insurance

Chuck, may I suggest that you find another body shop and try to get a bid for them to fix it with second hand parts. I did that with my VW and drove it for 7 more years and the cost was very minimal. I talked with my insurance company (State Farm) and they were very willing to do this rather than

Chuck, regarding your deer smashed car, as new as it is, also check if you have a state college with an autobody class in your area. Very often students will rebuild your car if you pay parts and the small cost of the class tuition, Better yet, you can see if they have a repair your own car class
