Re: [VFB] Tony Spezio

2020-08-15 Thread Bruce Whittle
Tony was the definition of the word gentleman.  I will be forever
grateful for his encouragement of my son, Brandon.  They even share the
same birthday, March 22.  I think of him fondly every time I see a Chili
Pepper in my fly box and even more so when one saves the day!  Tony left
a huge legacy, both in the worlds of fly tying and bamboo fly rods.  May
he rest in peace!

Chuck,

There is an epoxy that is made FOR plastics.  I used it on a cattle
repeater syringe piece that broke.  This piece takes quite a bit of
stress and it is still holding after at least 6 months of pretty heavy
use.  I cannot remember the exact brand but I found it at Lowes.

What I’m going to do differently this time though is to mount the

it broke does not interfere with the operation of the

\MY TRAVEL PLANS FOR 2015

hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in
Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven
there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my
children, friends, family and work. I would like to go to
Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on
physical activity anymore. I have also been in Doubt. That
is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too
often. I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very
important to stand firm. Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I
go there more often as I'm getting older. One of my
favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the
adrenaline flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age,
I need all the stimuli I can get! I may have been in
Continent, but I don't remember what country I was in.
It's an age thing. They tell me it is very wet and damp there.

Please do your part! You can do your bit by remembering to
send this e-mail to at least one unstable person. My job
is done! Life is too short for negative drama and petty
things. So, laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Allan,
That is for sure. Mr. Nixon was one of the most humble people I have
ever met. If I remember correctly he carried all of his materials, etc.
to a show in old cigar boxes and Mason jars! I also have a Pig Boat he
tied for me at one of the first Sowbug Roundups I attended but I
probably cannot put my hands on it without a lot of searching.
There are A LOT of salt-of-the-earth type people involved in fly tying /
fly fishing, a lot of them on this list. I hope I can get back to
Mountain Home sometime to see all of my extended family again - it has
been too long!

Rick,
REALLY BIG scuds, I guess!!! Maybe for fishing downstream of a nuclear

eyes on them as bass tend to go for the head of a baitfish is my
understanding and would more easily get hooked up on a shorter shank hook.
