covid.  It is strange that we have not heard from him.  He seemed to have a

Yeah, we were spared. Last count I heard, there are 24 dead and dozens still 
missing. That was what w here call a “super cell” inn that it was ½ mile wide 
and stayed on the ground for miles and miles with 165 mph winds. Chuck

least I wont have to worry about taking more pills over xmas.

Chuck,
Reality check...  NO ONE says they’re sorry any more. That an admission of 
guilt and a taking of responsibility.
People just don’t do that anymore.  It’s always the other guy’s fault.

Need any more flies?  I culled my inventory again and have a load of them I can 
send you.
Also, tell me what flies you can tie to sell, and I will see if I have the 
materials and hooks for that pattern to send you.

I have lots of common chenille and hackles for bugger-type panfish flies.

You should never leave the premises that you get injured on without calling a 
cop and filling out a report. This is legal proof, plus getting any 
eye-witnesses reports to the officer. Dollar can argue against any photos after 
the fact. Next best thing is event eye-witnesses  written accounts (if you can 
after you left) and then store security camera footage.
Their lawyers are paid to look for any loop-hold to get them off the hook.

Don: Sorry to hear about that. I’m with Joyce and think your friend died from a 
blood clot that went to her heart. We JUST got my wife home. Have to follow up 
with our family doc Tuesday to get another “INR” (test to determine blood 
thickness/thinness I guess is what it actually is), and from there, she’ll 
probably be on Coumiden for at least a few months and they told her “NO GREEN 
LEAFY VEGGIES... PERIOD”. I had never heard that before, but something about 
the iron or something in green leafy vegetables can cause new clots I guess.  
They never could determine what caused it, but they kept asking her if she 
smoked, which she NEVER has. I’ll tell ya what I think. And I’ll also tell ya 
what I now think of Dollar General stores.

Last week or so, she was in a Dollar General store near here, and it’s a tiny 
store. So tiny, and crowded inside that they don’t have a buggy rack outside. 
It’s inside the store. Well, they had it turned a little cockeyed, and somebody 
was trying to push their buggy back in the rack, and almost ran my wife down 
with the buggy. She smashed her wrist against that buggy rack, and by the time 
she got home, it was really swollen, really painful and had a small cut.

Soon as it happened, she had blood dripping down her hand, and the store 
manager didn’t even offer to get her a band-aid, or paper towel or anything. 
Just basically ignored my wife. So, she got home, emailed the home office 
because there homepage has no phone number.  Waited a week, and NO reply from 
the email. So she called another local store, and they gave her the corporate 
number and she called then and explained the situation. They said the local 
district manager would call her and get things straightened out and talk to her 
about it. He still has NOT called either. So. She has one more phone call 
to make, and that will be to a lawyer I’m thinking. I took pics just as soon as 
she got home, and the pics are digitally time/date stamped, so we have those as 
“proof”. I know one thing. We’ll have  to need an item pretty bad before we 
shop at another Dollar General I can tell ya that. I think that hit caused a 
blood clot to break loose, cause it was bruised BAD, which means that it WAS 
bleeding internally. I don’t want to be “sue happy” like this country is 
getting to be, but enough is enough and to not even get a phone call to check 
on somebody who was injured in one of your stores is unacceptable.  I have a 
little piddlin Associates Degree in Business Management, and in just that 
degree program, we learn that that is NOT the proper way to practice business.

that can be dealt with.
Cancer, a much tougher problem. 
Heart attack? All depends.  My dad’s boss lived 30 years after a massive 
attack.  My dad lived 2 seconds.

We just lost our best friend to a heart attack  (just 59) a couple of days ago. 
 Here one minute, gone the next.
A couple here we’ve known for over 20 years, church members and camping buddies 
(fly-fisherman).
Coleen, my wife’s best friend, fell down the stairs and shattered her femur a 
week ago.

We are in Eagle nest now and the lake is open for fishing and
camping, but all Federal Lands and State Parks are still closed due very dry
conditions and a very high fire danger. Red River is closed, Cimerron River

Yeah, daddy would buy those packs of about 10 snelled hooks to the pack. 
Problem is, he always used size 2. I told him way back then that I thought 
those were too big for a crappie. I still think one of a lot of fishermen's 
problems is using hooks that are too big,. When I started buying my own hooks, 
I'd buy those snelled EC hooks in a size 6, take a live minnow and run it 
though his tail then out the other side where he could still swim, but was 
crippled, which the crappie loved, and they'd tear those things up and I didn't 
lose near as many fish as I did with those size 2's, But, Daddy caught as many 
crappie as any man I have ever met, so I guess he had his own ideas for a 
reason too. Chuck

Thanks for putting the extra flies to such good use.  On those rare 
(sometimes frustrating) occasions when I host a swap, I always ask for 
one additional set to be auctioned off for one of my club's various 
charities.

Patrick.. That's great. if more ppl would do things for their community the 
country would be a much better place. And yeah, I bought a 100 pack  of 
those hooks (for only $7.95 I think) in size 14 from Cabelas I think it was. 
Those are the ones I'm going to use in the rope dub swap, (I hope LOL) Chuck


If anybody wants a nice (and inexpensive) panfish, or trout hook here is the

and
we have autioned off all four sets of flies, just so you know all the
monies
that come from these auctions goes directly to the south douglas food bank
and the total is 358.00 dollars i want to thank you all for particapating

Chuck.what you need to realize is that every show is different.based on 
who runs it. You have to do them all to find out which ones your going to want 
to go back and do again and again. Some are MUCH better than others, based on 
how you get treated. Are you made to feel welcome and appreciated. Do they 
thank you for your time and effort. Do they feed you. Do they keep you hydrated 
during the day. Do they help you if you need it, with load in and load out, 
etc., etc., etc., etc..all these things play and part in your decision 
making when deciding wether or not you wanna go back. And then of course 
there's the expense involved. Bottom line is not all shows have the same 
standard as to how they treat their guest tyers.."MOST" are cool. Some 
got a LONG way to go. Sowbug is one the BEST! So i expect to see you here.
