First, thank you for your service! My son-in-law is a soon to be major in
the AF assigned to Socom at Mac Dill in Tampa and my brother was a tech
sgt. in the AF as well. he passed away in 2014 and was interred at
Arlington.

The biggest factor was the likelihood that we will be downsizing from our
current home and space and 2 car garage and large driveway to a smaller
home where I'd be unlikely to have a good covered place for the Bug. Also
when I started restoring it I thought one

or the other you will end up with another because the journey is more
fun than the destination both in travel and VW restoration. At some
point, one will come along and the timing will be just right and you

You are so right and on point. When I got my Bug in Aug. 98; I knew
nothing never having owned one before. This list was a godsend as i expect
I asked no question that someone else had not asked and had answered. It
was like a brotherhood/sisterhood of people who had this unique bond.

Good afternoon to all from Opelika Alabama.
Today I sold or 1972 VW Bug that had been in our family since my
father-in-law bought it from Jim Larcom VW in Dallas Texas in July 1972.
We brought it up here from FL when he died in August 1998 and set about to
restore it.
