I can't believe it was '98 when you got on the list! You're one of the last
few names I remember from back then. All the best to you until your next VW 😃

I'm currently without a VW but have enough parts to put a car together and then
some. Just waiting for the space our new business should bring.

Later,
Bruce

Erin/NQ,

You are so right and on point. When I got my Bug in Aug. 98; I knew nothing
never having owned one before. This list was a godsend as i expect I asked no
question that someone else had not asked and had answered. It was like a
brotherhood/sisterhood of people who had this unique bond. Whether you had 1 VW
or 20 - whether you had owned them for 10 years or 10 minutes; didn't matter -
you were family and family members are always there to help.

I think the saddest thing about selling our Bug other than the family link to
my father-in-law was the memories I have of that restoration process where I
knew so little but just took it one step at a time.

I told my wife the enjoyment I had during the process of restoring it was
almost more than the joy of owning it AFTER I had completed the restoration if
that makes sense. I guess it is thee old saying about the journey being better
than the destination.

It was a fun car to restore especially since I had never restored an old car
before...it wasn't overwhelming.

You are right about Google at our fingertips and even youtube but those are so
much more impersonal than the vintagvw list was. You came to know people on the
list as friends even though I've never met one face to face and only talked to
a couple on the phone.

I just pray God's blessings on each one of you and your vehicles.

I still think of you all as family and always will - with or without a VW in my
garage.

Thanks for all your help over these 18 years!!!

Peace,

Mike Morehouse
