Hi,
I think this is a general problem. If you have earphones I find that the
numbers spoken by voice over are more distinct for some reason. I can’t
guarantee or explain why this is so, but it usually works for me.

This is one of the best reasons some of us still, even now, require and get a
phone with real keys. The alternative could be one of the tactile or brailled
screen protectors with dots in the right place
Bluetooth on all the time.

Someone else had mentioned turning on audio ducking; which would help, but also

Then, turn the phone volume down with the side button, and VO volume up with

Hi,
I would suggest audio ducking so the voicemail system will turn down when you
are trying to use VoiceOver to locate the numbers.

If a message is not deleting, turn your iOS device off and then on again. When
you open mail, the deleted message should be gone. It just means your memory

Yes, that's correct. The Prompts subject line was someone wondering if
there was an app that would prompt you to close your other apps.

I am not aware that there is such an app, after all, it's easy to clear the
apps in the app switcher and good practice to do so if not once a day at
least a few times a week. I have gotten so used to doing this and never have
issues with the iPhone or Voiceover becoming sluggish.

Sounds like you're using semi-colons where commas would work better.
In short, use commas when you want the dialing to be automatic, use
semi-colons if you want to prompt the phone to dial a certain sequence
of numbers. You initiate this by double tapping. If you used

Hi,
With an iPhone, how does one go about entering numeric keypad responses
to navigate within an automated system?
I've heard one can use a comma after the phone number. The comma
introduces a pause; several commas produce a longer pause.
But not all automated systems are one layer deep, and
the
automated prompts had been allowed to run on for a second or two. In my
case, I had to call the number in question once or twice to figure out
precisely what menu options to pre-program. Here's what I did:
1. In my contact for the number in question, I entered the phone number

Where you haven't been able to work out the full series to programme or just
want to navigate normally, I highly recommend using a headset like the one
provided with the iPhone. I have found these menus quite easy when using a
headset but a bit challenging when not.
