I find the extra step annoying. Another place where I now have an extra step is in the messages app. On the main screen with a list of text conversations, I used to double tap edit, then go to the bottom of the screen and double tap read all. Now I have an extra step and it’s annoying.

For what it is worth, I agree with you Mary. If you have it on in Safari settings, and find a page in't working right, you can go to that format button and there is a hide reader view button. But, it was easier the old way. Maybe if enough people write Apple and request it, we could have a Reader
