more robust. if swiping up or down is difficult, double tap and find the
setting. different strokes for different folks.

It’s easy if you use the rotor.
VoiceOver screen reader users, on iOS 13 with Safari, quickly access reader
view on a webpage by locating format and perform a single finger swipe up to
reader view and double tap. Same to hide reader view.

I find the extra step annoying. Another place where I now have an extra step is
in the messages app. On the main screen with a list of text conversations, I
used to double tap edit, then go to the bottom of the screen and double tap
read all. Now I have an extra step and it’s annoying.
For what it is worth, I agree with you Mary.
If you have it on in Safari settings, and find a page in't working right, you
can go to that format button and there is a hide reader view button.
But, it was easier the old way.
Maybe if enough people write Apple and request it, we could have a Reader
