Hello everybody. Talking thermostats should work and sometimes they don't. I
bought a Calvin talking thermostat and had it installed. It would freeze up and
I would have to reset and reprogram it. So try them but realize that they may
not work as you expect them to operate.

The only aspect that it digital is the talking function. Otherwise it works

using the iPhone is not necessary.

Actually the VIP 3000 says it does work with analog. I'm not sure if
it's that there system is old or what.

, seems simpler to me than having to walk up and controal a
talking thermostat which will have it's own unique interface. If I
wanted simple, I probably wouldn't have gotten a smart phone. Now that I
have one, I'm going to use it for everything I can that will make my
life simpler.
