Yes that does work. One finger straight down from the right corner of the screen will open control center or notifications depending on how far you go down. It works like home and app switcher in reverse. However the old way of doing it still works as well with three fingers down from the top

I heard an interview with a couple of Accessibility folk from Apple, who said that at least for now, unless you use headphones, you’re not going to be able to do much with voice control. I suppose that makes sense, because voiceover talking to us would probably interfere with voice control. I

Even if we can't use Voice Control right away, we'll stil benefit from it indirectly. First of all, developers need to label their apps using the accessibility AP so they can work properly with Voice Control. VoiceOver will also be able to use these labels so that's a big win for us. And then,

I still use that method. Call me strange, but the touch typing mode seems counterintuitive. I am used to typing where you push down on the key you want instead of lifting away from it. In the standard typing mode, I often use "split tap" When u find the key you want, keep your finger on it.
