Re: The Latest Update

2016-12-25 Thread Jim Fettgather
on the same screen where you are asked to enter a passcode, there is a
button that says pass code options.

When you activate that button, there is another button that says don't add
pass code.
I believe that then there is another dyre warning about not adding a pass
code, but finally, finally, you should encounter a continue button.

And you won't have to worry about having a pass code.

Early this morning, I allowed Apple to install Ios10.2 on my iPhone, and
this time, I haven't lost
volume but before the upload is, finally and irrevocably, installed, I am
being asked to enter a

passcode, and a passcode is something that I won't be entering.
However, I understand that there is a setting whereby I can disable this
request, but I can't open
settings, and when I ask Siri to do so, all I get is "alert! emergency
call".
All suggestions of what I should do will be, gratefully, received and
studied.

If I'm recalling correctly, the pass code that you are being asked to enter is
the 4 digit code that
you have set for restrictions. If not that it is your iTunes password.

Re: Backing up and setting up new device

2016-12-25 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Amy,

How frustrating. Try backing up the phone to iTunes again, doing an encrypted
backup, and restore the iPad from that. If that doesn't work, back up the phone
to iCloud and try restoring the iPad from that backup.

Best,
Anna

The Netflix app has a whole category of movies or shows that have audio
description. But I am not finding any such thing with the iTunes Store. I
accidentally ran across a movie that said it had audio description, and I
purchased it. And I know at one point, there was a link floating around
which took you to the list of audio described movies. But I am not seeing
anything with in the store that lets you go there, if you haven't saved
that particular link. Is there a way to get to these movies altogether
 from within the iTunes Store?

Backing up and setting up new device

2016-12-25 Thread Amy Ruel
Hello all,

My husband got a new iPad for Christmas. He had never put his devices on
iTunes, so I backed up his iPhone and then, after setting up his iPad as new
according to Apple instructions, I backed up his iPhone to iTunes and then
restored the iPad from that backup. Unfortunately, nothing backed up,
although his photos, music, and apps are still on the iPhone.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Amy

Re: Finding audio described movies on iTunes

2016-12-25 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Harry,
I did finally find I think, that list of movies you were talking about. For me
it showed up down at the bottom of another list I was looking through which had
movies you could rent today for $.99. I can definitely tell you that the list
that I saw after I clicked that audio descriptive movies button is not the same
as the one you get when you search. There are some things the same and
something is different. For instance, the movie 12 years a slave, does not show
up if you search for audio description. But it does show up in that list that
you found. Several Harry Potter movies show up if you search for audio
description, but they do not show up in the list that is the same one that I
believe you found. And the movie salt does not show up in either list. And no
TV shows. So, well I'm sorry to keep beating this horse, I'm just pointing out
the discrepancies. I will now stop talking about it, since I think point has
been made.

Re: Finding audio described movies on iTunes

2016-12-25 Thread Mary Otten
Well, according to Apple Support page, the way you were supposed to find audio
described stuff is in fact just search on audio description or "a D". However,
I just ran across another movie, salt, which isn't in the listing when you
search that way, but is listed in those movies which can be watched rented
today for $.99. So, they have some work to do. Also, I'm not seeing any TV
shows with audio description. Only movies, and clearly not all of them. I
appreciate the fact that Apple does have some ad movies. They need to clean
this up so that if you want to see everything that has it, you see it all in
one place.

Re: Finding audio described movies on iTunes

2016-12-25 Thread Mary Otten
I'm not seeing a "collections" choice. I have the movies tab, that is one of
the five on the bottom, selected. Within that, there are a whole bunch of
headings, including one that says genres. And there are lots of others. But I
didn't find anything that said collections. So I'm stuck on the second to last
step. What am I missing? This is in iPhone app.

Re: Finding audio described movies on iTunes

2016-12-25 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Keith,
I did that. And I did come up with a list of movies. But I know it is not
complete, because just a couple of days ago, I purchased a movie from the
iTunes Store which was listed as having audio description. This move it did not
show up in the list when I did my search. I thought maybe there would be a
"more" button or something that would let me see more pages of results. But I
didn't find one. On my iPhone 7 Plus, if I search for audio description and
then have movies and hit the sea all button, there are seven pages. And the
movie I bought, blindside, is not there. But if you look up this movie, it says
it is audio described. It's on sale right now by the way, in case someone is
interested. I haven't watched it yet, but I assume if it says it's audio
described, it is

The Netflix app has a whole category of movies or shows that have audio
description. But I am not finding any such thing with the iTunes Store. I
accidentally ran across a movie that said it had audio description, and I
purchased it. And I know at one point, there was a link floating around which
took you to the list of audio described movies. But I am not seeing anything
with in the store that lets you go there, if you haven't saved that particular
link. Is there a way to get to these movies altogether from within the iTunes
Store?

I recently purchased and I grill mini, I have several questions:

- does the device typically come with a battery?
- what size battery does it use?
- it came with a thin metal desk about his big in diameter as a half-dollar
piece, what is that supposed to be?

1- I have unscrewed two tiny screws in the bottom of the device and removed the
magnetic plate, I assume that is where the battery is to be placed – is this
correct?

Thanks for any help anybody can offer!
