Re: Audible issue

First, are you looking at the cloud, or what is on your device.
Select device, then double tap on the delete button, then a new delete from 
Device button will appear before the name of the books on your device.
Double tap the one before the title you want to delete, and then repeat that 
move since it needs confirmation.
If the book you delete is the last one on your device you will get a message to 
tap on the cloud to see other books.

I agree with Mary.
4g came in around 2012.
It took several years before it became the standard, and 3g is only now coming 
to an end in a year or so.
I'd be surprised if 5g is very widely available for at least 2 years; but even 
then; how much difference will it really make?

I look at it this way .. I want the best camera available .. the
better the camera, the better job scanning apps and such will do.
Plus things like FaceTime and such if you are needing someone to help.

The other thing is size .. and that is totally subjective.  I prefer
the smaller Pro, as I can still put it on my belt .. I don’t like a
phone in my hand or pocket .. again personal preference ..

Typically one has to tell the headset to go into pairing mode.  Turn them off. 
Then back onbut holding the power button extra long 5-10s until it goes 
into pairing mode. Check your docs ... it may require a second button press

The guide is ok other than this scrolling problem. You get lots of unlabeled 
buttons, but usually to the right of said buttons, you can get the program 
name. But again the scrolling is terrible.

I guess I could always stream from the phone, and use airplay, but that would

And with the upcoming iOs 13 you'll have activities, which will let you change 
not only speech but also rate, peach and any other related setting with a flic.
As it happened with many other bug reports related to accessibility issues, 
Apple is not responding.

Re: Family Sharing

It is pretty straightforward. Whoever will be the master manager to your 
account need to go to the Device settings followed by going to the Apple ID 
iCloud settings area and there you will have family share where  you can set it 
up.

How does one access this network tab? Can I still limit it to my favorite 
channels instead of all of them? On the iPhone it is so easy!

The guide is ok other than this scrolling problem. You get lots of unlabeled 
buttons, but usually to the right of said buttons, you can get the program 
name. But again the scrolling is terrible.

I guess I could always stream from the phone, and use airplay, but that would 
kill my battery even more.

When I use the two finger hold and drag up or down to try to scroll, instead of 
scrolling, what happens like 99% of the time is that I end up clicking on the 
last program in the list. Doesn't matter whether or not I am trying to scroll 
up or down, I have the same problem.

Also, all that is read is the name of the program, but not the network.

Am I doing something wrong with the scrolling?

On my iPhone this is a piece of cake, but it's a much bigger surface. Also, 
it's a three finger swipe up and down, not a two finger swipe while clicking in 
on the touch pad.

Any help here would be much appreciated.

Spanish VoiceOver annoyance

Hi,
This message is mostly for those Spanish speakers in the group, but if 
anyone has a fix, it would be most welcome.
When just about any Apple device gives you the time, and it is afternoon or 
night, instead of saying P. M. like normal, Voiceover says "Páginas. M." 
Obviously, I know what it means, but when you hear it so often, and on 
multiple devices, it does really start to get on your nerves. For you 
English speakers, it would be like hearing "pages m." instead of P.M. The 
problem exists on iOS devices as well as on Apple Watch.
I know I could switch to the 24 hour clock, but I am not a fan of that.
I have tried to edit voiceover pronunciation, but nothing I try seems to 
work.
Wondering if any of you have been able to fix on your devices.
I wrote Apple a while back, over a year ago, and they sent me back a 
general email. Thank you for contacting us, blah blah blah. Still though, 
no fix.
Is this something keeping me from being able to use my device? Absolutely 
not. Is it extremely annoying? Absolutely!
Hoping someone has a fix.

Audible issue

Mysterious serie responce

the lesser of these IPhones. The pro max would be my choice because it's

Hi Sieghard,
Thank you for this.  If I had to look for the assistive touch button, and it is 
on the home screen, I would have to come out of the settings app, and search 
for the assistive touch button on the home screen.  Although, I tried that, but 
that doesn’t work either.  I will have to call Apple regarding my face id 
problem, and I will just out of curiosity ask them about the clearing ram issue 
because my phone shouldn’t be acting as sluggish as it is.
Well, now at least, I know where the assistive touch button is!

The Assistive Touch button/menu is not in Settings after you turn it on it is 
on your home screen and you do have to hunt for it, it is near the bottom 
right, though.
Anyhow, as I said, if your phone is acting sluggish a complete shutdown and 
restart should clear things up as well since it will also clear the memory.
If you still feel it is not right you can always try a hard reset.

I really think something is wrong with these instructions that I got from the 
web! LOL!  The reason why I say this is because according to these 
instructions, I go to settings, general, accessibility, and turn on Assistive 
Touch, and then go back to general, and tap on the shutdown button, and I do 
all that just fine, but according to the instructions, it says to press and 
hold the assistive touch button, but I’ve searched the entire page for the 
assistive touch button under general, but it is not on that page!  LOL!  Either 
that, or I am losing my mind!  LOL!  If anyone has cleared the ram on their xr 
phone, please let me know how you did it.  I also can’t find the on-screen 
button rather I turn on the assistive touch or not.  A few weeks ago, I noticed 
my xr phone started acting a little sluggish, so I thought if I cleared the 
ram, it might work better.

Janet, I wouldn’t worry about it, just turn your phone off and back on maybe 
once a week and you’ll be fine.
But if you want to try this, the on-screen home button is the one which you can 
find after you tap on the Assistive Touch menu, this itself is a button which 
appears on the screen near the bottom right after you turn on assistive touch, 
you can also find this button, tap on hold on it and drag it wherever you want 
on the screen, e.g. you can drag it to the bottom in the middle so it appears 
approx.. in the same spot where the old physical home button on older phones 
used to be.

I am a little confused about clearing ram on my xr phone.  I did several Google 
searches, and I came up with the exact same results as you are showing here.  I 
can follow most of the steps to clear xr iPhone, until I get to the last step, 
Tap on the Assistive Touch button and then press and hold on the on-screen Home 
button until your iPhone flashes and returns to the Home screen.  Do they mean 
the on-screen Home button  is the power on and off button? Am I supposed to go 
back to the Accessibility page to find the Assistive Touch button, and press it 
and hold it? Can someone please tell me how to work with this last step?

When I just tried it on my iPhone 8 I didn’t get the SIRI beep at all, after 
the tap to power off prompt appeared I pushed down and held down on the virtual 
home button and after maybe 8 or so seconds I got the lock screen with the 
prompt to enter my passcode, it did not simply go back to the home screen.

Doing a Google search for “How to clear memory on the iPhone”  resulted in a 
lot of articles, many older and referring to phones with a mechanical home 
button and apparently even the iPhone 7 which I believe had the first virtual 
home button still works this way. Anyways, I also found an article from 2018 
which explains how to do this on the iPhone 7 and older phones as well as the 
iPhone 8 and iPhone X and, I assume XR/XS/XS Max.
I tried the method described in the article on my iPhone 8 and the result was 
the same as pressing and holding down the virtual home button, I ended up on 
the lock screen where I had to

instructions, I go to settings, general, accessibility, and turn on Assistive 
Touch, and then go back to general, and tap on the shutdown button, and I do 
all that just fine, but according to the instructions, it says to press and 
hold the assistive touch button, but I’ve searched the entire page for the 
assistive touch button under general, but it is not on that page!  LOL!  Either 
that, or I am losing my mind!  LOL!  If anyone has cleared the ram on their xr 
phone, please let me know how you did it.  I also can’t find the on-screen 
button rather I turn on the assistive touch or not.  A few weeks ago, I noticed 
my xr phone started acting a little sluggish, so I thought if I cleared the 
ram, it might work better.

Janet, I wouldn’t worry about it, just turn your phone off and back on maybe 
once a week and you’ll be fine.
But if you want to try this, the on-screen home button is the one which you can 
find after you tap on the Assistive Touch menu, this itself is a button which 
appears on the screen near the bottom right after you turn on assistive touch, 
you can also find this button, tap on hold on it and drag it wherever you want 
on the screen, e.g. you can drag it to the bottom in the middle so it appears 
approx.. in the same spot where the old physical home button on older phones 
used to be.

When I just tried it on my iPhone 8 I didn’t get the SIRI beep at all, after 
the tap to power off prompt appeared I pushed down and held down on the virtual 
home button and after maybe 8 or so seconds I got the lock screen with the 
prompt to enter my passcode, it did not simply go back to the home screen.

Doing a Google search for “How to clear memory on the iPhone”  resulted in a 
lot of articles, many older and referring to phones with a mechanical home 
button and apparently even the iPhone 7 which I believe had the first virtual 
home button still works this way. Anyways, I also found an article from 2018 
which explains how to do this on the iPhone 7 and older phones as well as the 
iPhone 8 and iPhone X and, I assume XR/XS/XS Max.
I tried the method described in the article on my iPhone 8 and the result was 
the same as pressing and holding down the virtual home button, I ended up on 
the lock screen where I had to enter my passcode, Touch Id at that point did 
not unlock my phone and focus did not return simply to the home screen. If 
anybody wants to try this on the iPhone X/XR/XS, here is the text of the

Apple plans to launch a new-generation "iPhone SE" in the form of a low-cost 
4.7-inch iPhone this coming spring, sources in Asia have claimed.

 reports that the new model will be Apple's first low-cost smartphone since the 
2016 launch of the popular iPhone SE, which started at $399, and while
the name and price of the new model hasn't been decided, "it is viewed as the 
latest generation of the iPhone SE," according to the paper's sources. 
The size of the new model will be similar to the 4.7-inch 
iPhone 8
 that was introduced in 2017, three sources said. The model will share most of 
the same components with the flagship iPhones this year, and it will feature
the lower-cost liquid crystal display that will help Apple achieve the lower 
starting price-tag, although the final pricing for the model is not yet settled,
the people said. 
Rumors of a new low-cost 4.7-inch iPhone modeled on the iPhone 8 first 
appeared in April
 via Economic Daily News. EDN's sources also claimed the device coming in early 
2020 will include an LCD display. In addition, they also claimed it will
feature a new PCB design to house Apple's A13 processor, a single-lens rear 
camera, and 128GB of base storage. 
It's not clear if the rumored 4.7-inch iPhone would inherit the notched design 
and Face ID features of Apple's flagship smartphones, but Nikkei's references
to 2017's iPhone 8 suggest it could retain the bordered screen and Touch 
ID-equipped Home button of that device to keep costs down.

Well, I get mostly 100% accuracy with Voice Dream Scanner on my iPhone SE now 
in low-lighting conditions.

I have great doubts that spending almost $1000 more for an 11 Pro Max would get 
better results.

I’m glad there are people willing to spend lots of money for new iPhones.  I 
simply cannot see the point.

I’ll shut up now as this is totally a personal choice and those who want to buy 
the top of line phones, will do that which will help keep Apple going.  That is 
a good thing.

I couldn't justify upgrading and if I could at this point I wouldn't want the 
lesser of these IPhones. The pro max would be my choice because it's big and

I look at it this way .. I want the best camera available .. the
better the camera, the better job scanning apps and such will do.
Plus things like FaceTime and such if you are needing someone to help.

Having said that maybe that is just my way of justification .. LOL …

The other thing is size .. and that is totally subjective.  I prefer
the smaller Pro, as I can still put it on my belt .. I don’t like a
phone in my hand or pocket .. again personal preference ..

Hi all,
The iPhone 11, pro, max will have the ability to take better pictures in the 
night with it’s night mode feature that uses the white sensor on their new 
cameras. This may be beneficial went to in OCR when scanning and reading 
documents. Once the new iPhone 11 releases, someone could put it to the test 
compared to The previous generation iPhone models.

Did you put the headphones in pairing mode first? You can do this by 
pressing the power/volume up button until you hear it announce pairing 
mode. After this you should see it on your iPhone.

I couldn't justify upgrading and if I could at this point I wouldn't want the 
lesser of these IPhones. The pro max would be my choice because it's big and 
comes fully loaded. Fast charger in the box and I can get it in 512 gb.

I think it comes down to personal preference and how much you are willing and 
able to spend.  I like the smaller phone, so I’m forced to go with the Pro.  If 
they had the similar size in the other model, then I would probably do that.  
If I liked the larger size, then I would do the 11.  

 

I’m glad we have lots of different choices … that is what makes things great is 
that we all can have our own opinion and hopefully we can find a model that 
works for us.  Some of us like larger phones, some smaller.  Some like the 
latest greatest, while others are happy with phones a couple of years old.  
Luckily I still am reimbursed from my employer for my phone, so that helps me 
make the decision.

I couldn't justify upgrading and if I could at this point I wouldn't
want the lesser of these IPhones. The pro max would be my choice
because it's big and comes fully loaded. Fast charger in the box and I
can get it in 512 gb.

Play A Folder Of Music Using The Phone Drive App

I download music to my iPhone using the Phone Drive app.  I have a separate
folder in Phone Drive for each album.

 

The only thing I have not figured out is how to play an entire folder of
music in Phone Drive.  I have tried double-tapping some unlabeled buttons
while a song is playing, but they don't do what I want.

 

Does anyone else use Phone Drive who has figured out how to play a folder of
music?

priced features are only going to benefit the sighted.
you want to spend the extra money, that is up to the buyer.
