RE: Uber Eats issue

2024-01-29 Thread janet gross
Hi Bill,

If you ever get a double charge, make sure you call your credit card company.
Explain to them what happened, and ask them to put that charge in dispute
status.
Your credit card company will then dispute it with Uber, and chances, you will
get your money credited back from Uber in to your card, and the bank will let
you know the outcome of the dispute.
It doesn't sound like the Uber app is very accessible, and if so, make sure you
tell that to your credit card company.
Companies don't like to deal with the banks.

I just downloaded a book on the iPad Mini 6 from Bookshare and it took well
less than 1 minute to say download complete.
I checked and it was available and also on my iPhone.

So, I cannot duplicate the issue at all.
I have only a little over 300 titles in my library.

Mary,
I'm really sorry you are having such headaches. I took the liberty of
forwarding yours and Kimberly's emails to my contact at Applause group.
Frankly, they are uncovering a lot of bugs in the Voice Dream Reader app, but
they are also finding that iOS 17 has brought out a lot of issues that could
not have been foreseen.

Time will tell, but I have a feeling those of us who have been long time users
will have to subscribe, though at a slightly lower rate before too many more
months. I hope they get the issue you and Kimberly are experiencing resolved
before then.

Myself, I have not had that issue. IN fact, last week I bought myself a
refurbished iPad Mini 6.
When I set up Voice Dream Reader and elected to use iCloud, I was frankly
shocked at how smoothly that went. My phone is the 13 pro. I have quite a few
long audio books in mP3. The longest is Barbara Streisand's tome that at
normal speed I think is over 40 hours.
My entire library transferred and became available in a little less than an
hour.

I have not added a book from Bookshare on the iPad since, but I have added a
couple on the iPhone and they were available almost immediately.

Who knows what is ultimately responsible for this. It could be a range of
things, like wi-Fi speed, device resources, and of course, the mood of the
various Gremlins that like to interfere at times. 

I know this doesn't help.

I don’t download large audio files. I do have a few MP threes, but nothing like
that has been downloaded by me in a very long time. So, these are books from
bookshare. So I expect that when it says download complete, it’s there. So they
need to fix it. I thought they had it fixed after an update a few months ago.
But it didn’t last.

Re: Creating ringtones on iPhone with Ringtone Maker and Garage Band apps

2024-01-29 Thread Kelly Pierce
Waltr Pro requires the use of Apple drivers to access Apple devices,
such as iPhones and iPads. These drivers would be installed if the
end user were to download and install iTunes. However, these drivers
can also be installed in the setup of Waltr Pro if itunes is not on a
Windows computer. Here’s a question and answer from the developer’s
website:

“I'm a Windows user. Do I need to install iTunes in order to use WALTR PRO?

No. You don’t need to have iTunes installed on your PC. You may choose
one of these ways to make WALTR PRO work properly on Windows PCs:
•   Install the latest Apple iTunes version on your PC;
• Download Apple drivers during the WALTR PRO installation process.
Any Windows app that has to access your iPhone (notwithstanding the
model) needs to use Apple Mobile Support drivers. They are usually
installed on your computer together with iTunes. Naturally, WALTR PRO
for Windows has to use these iTunes drivers as well.”

saving an image file

2024-01-29 Thread margaretebooth
When I open an email which has an image attachment in the mail app on my
iPhone 15 pro I am unable to save the attachment on to my phone. When I open
the image attachment voice over keeps saving direct touch area and if I
swipe to where voice over says share am I do a double tap on share nothing
happens. How can I get to share so I can save the image or move it somewhere
else on my phone?

Yes you do and they state that it does not work with the version of iTunes
available from the Microsoft store.

2015 it does have its drawbacks. Fortunately data is not too
expensive here in the UK so whether streaming via WiFi or mobile
 data it’s not too bad.
However, unless you regularly explore new music you run the risk of
paying for albums over and over again. Then there is the issue when
or if you discontinue your subscription you lose access to all your
music whereas buying physical media or downloaded content you will
still have access to your library.
