I am currently enjoying a wonderful conversation with the developer of Blindfold Crazy 8's. For anyone who doesn't know, they're fantastic! They responded to my question within 2 hours, and are carrying on an honest conversation with me. It's developers like them that I'll ALWAYS support!

Accessible Spades - Is there a developer out there willing to make it happen?

2015-03-07 Thread Amy Harris
Hi all. The subject pretty much says it all I guess. I've been desperately seeking a VO-accessible Spades game for about 2 years now, and I haven't yet found one. I've emailed developers of the current Spades games out there, and, if I received a reply at all, the best response I've received

Questions from a new braille display user.

2015-01-16 Thread Amy Harris
Hi everyone. I just received, earlier this week, a Harpo BraillePen 12 Touch, and, although I've been using iDevices since IOS 4, and braille for most of my life, this is my first time with a braille display, and I have a few questions. I got my device paired with no problem. However, when I

Thank you so much Charles and Gina! That did the trick. I need to make sure my screen is locked, turn on my BP12T, unlock my screen, and it pairs pretty much immediately. I reverse the steps to unpair/power off my BP12T, and, when I do that, it doesn’t dump me into help when I unlock my

Hi Alia, I just asked some questions here about the BraillePen 12 Touch a couple of days ago. I also emailed Larry Lewis, from Flying Blind, whose info has been posted on this group a couple of times. He is very helpful!!! In my email to him, one of the questions that I asked was whether

Hi all, and thanks for the opinions I've gotten so far. Stacey, thanks for letting me know that the 12 doesn't have any form of routing keys at all. That makes the decision easy. I'll get the BraillePen 12 Touch. Are there any problems that anyone has run into with either the 12, or, if anyone

BraillePen 12 Touch

2014-05-03 Thread Amy Harris
Hi all. Has anyone used the BraillePen 12 Touch, the one with the routing touch areas above each braille cell? I'd like to know whether it is worth buying one to work with my iDevices? Also, I think the answer is no, but just to double-check, does the BraillePen 12, not the new Touch version

2014-05-03 Thread Amy Harris
Thanks for the reply Brian. I did contact the vendor. They actually say that you can set the BraillePen Touch up as a different braille device and it works. They say that’s a temporary work-around, but that it works for now, and that Apple has had the new BraillePen Touch for 6 months now

With either Mint or Check, could I go to the store, run a charge on either one of my credit cards or my debit card, but run it as a credit and not put in the ATM code, and then go outside and immediately enter that charge manually? I ask this because I don't want to wait the 2-3 days that it

Hi Denny and all. I've developed a way of finding out who the enemies I'll be fighting in a quest are before fighting. I have/use an iPhone 5, so hope this works for everyone. You know how, once you've read what the quest is and what the rewards will be, how it tells you stuff like, Let's

Hi all. I'm a partial, barely, *GRIN* and I use VoiceOver. I'm up to level 32 on Solara now, and loving it. Tess, I think it was you that said you'd like to know about the level widths? Let me know if I'm wrong about who asked. I can tell you that the game starts with a width of 8. At one

Re: solara questions now I am playing

Oops! Sorry. I forgot to say that, when the castle levels increase in width, that goes all the way down to the bottom of the castle. So, even though our first few levels started at being 8 wide, when we build that first upgrade level that adds a +2 wide, but no height, that +2 wide goes all

I really wish there were more card games. I have tried pretty much every Spades game, as well as Bridge, Pitch, Hearts, Phase 10, and on and on. *GRIN* I haven't found any that are accessible. I've contacted tons of the game developers, asking if they would be willing to consider working on

I too have been hearing a lot about this 12v battery adapter, and have been eagerly looking for it all over the web site. I also haven't found it. The 12v power adapter came with my StandScan Pro, as did the 9v battery adapter, but I haven't been able to find anywhere on the site where I

Hi List, I'm a VoiceOver user, but I have a student who is a Zooms-only user on an iPad 4. We seem to be running into the occasional conflict/freeze when/if we attempt to turn on VO and Zooms at the same time, and, besides, its a bit of a pain to have to constantly go into the Accessibility
