Re: Using Chat GPT, and other Apss

2024-04-13 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi Terri.
First, congrats on your studies.
I think you will find Chat GPT helpful with research. You can type
questions and get quite accurate results.
I found that it is pretty good with describing images, although if I run an
image through it a second and third time, i might get some different
results. Sometimes it adds details, sometimes it seems to be describing a
whole different picture.
The best way to master academic writing is to practice it and get feedback.
In every school these days, there are writing centers and you should be
able to get some feedback from teaching assistants. It's not as hard as you
think. You just need to get used to it.
If I can help with that, please, feel free to message me privately.

Hi everyone.

I still use an SE2020 and remember that it can supposedly take two sim
cards. However, I've never managed to figure out where the second Sim
would go.
Does anyone know?

Re: Google home app

2023-08-08 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
I know. It can be annoying.

Here are the steps from my search online:
Open the Google Home app .
Tap and hold your device's tile.
Tap Settings. Device information.
Tap Wi-Fi. Forget This network.
Return to the Google Home app home screen and follow the setup steps
above to connect your device to a new Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Re: Accessible Nespresso machines

2023-08-03 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
OK, the one I use is called Nespresso Essenza. It is small and very
easy to work.
There is also one called Lattissima, which comes with a milk frothing
pitcher on the side. I am not sure every blind person would be
comfortable using that, because the frother becomes very hot and the
milk is scalding hot.

I live In Israel, so I am not sure which models you would have over
there. The ones we have here can take pods from a few brands.
I use mugs with handles, because the small cups for espresso are too
small for me to hold comfortably when hot.
I will try to find out the name of the model I use.

2023-02-20 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Thanks everyone.
I will try what you suggested. I haven't found where to change the
default language that is chosen, or rather the default voice, but that
is less important.
Yesterday, without changing anything, it worked alright for a while,
but then stopped working again. It seems to be a bug.

Again, thanks for everyone's help.

That's what I have to do now, switch between the languages through
the rotor. It was weird that it worked so well in IOS 15 and not in
this one. And according to the Voice Over settings, there is no reason
why it wouldn't recognize the Hebrew while the English is chosen.

Perplexing Issue With Languages

2023-02-20 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi everyone.

I updated to IOS 16.3.1 and it seemed to work OK. I use an SE 2020.
The only issue I have now is that my default language is English and
although the option is chosen as ON under accessibility and voice
over, the phone does not recognize Hebrew automatically and reads it.
I have to go to the rotor, find languages, change to Hebrew and only
then can I read it.

I looked everywhere and cannot find a solution. I searched under
languages under general, under spoken content and under voice over and
speech.
Any suggestion would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Tali

Hi Afik.

I'm afraid you can only go by tthe choices you get when you check out.
Usually, there are two or three options for delivery.
Also, if she is in Israel, keep in mind that the holidays are making

At least the Brits know how to laugh at their own issues. I watch a
lot of the panel shows on YouTube that follow the news and other
things and I must say, I am a big fan.

As to where we are from, I would feel comfortable revealing my country
of origin and dwelling here, but not necessarily on other lists. There
still seems to be a lot of prejudice out there...

For those who can work with Braille, it might make it easier to use

Re: kindle

2022-08-13 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi.

Here is a dropbox link for the PC app:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wz3388r2rmrrug2/KindleForPC-installer-1.37.65274.exe?dl=1

I think it does work nicer on the PC. There you can read it pretty
much like any document.

Enjoy!

Re: kindle

2022-08-13 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Not that I can recall. It will use the Voice Over on your phone. If
you want, I can also share a link for a dropbox copy of the Kindle app
for the PC. Very easy to use. You tab through to the library , then
choose the book and enter on it, then you tab to the table of contents
if it exists or to the beginning of the book.

2022-08-13 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Very accessible. The software for the computer, the iPhone and the
Kindle tablets are very user friendly. If you buy a tablet, you will
need help turning on the Voiceview feature, which is like Voice Over
at first, but after that, it stays on.
I also recommend using a wireless keyboard with it.

Forgive the presumption on my part, but I think you may be Jewish

computer. I am not sure if they have an app for the phone.

Hope this helps.

Question About Libre Freestyle 2 For A Friend

2022-01-08 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi everyone.

I have a good friend who used the sensors with the Libre Freestyle 2
system for a good while and was very pleased with it.However, for no
apparent reason, it stopped working and nothing he has done so far has
helped. He talked to the company and they sent new sensors, but
nothing helped. Then he went to Apple as they suggested, but they
couldn't find anything wrong with the phone.

Has anyone come across such a problem? Any suggestions or ideas would
be very very appreciated!

Thanks and hope everyone stays safe!

Tali

Problem With Siri

2021-09-27 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi everyone.

I have a friend in Australia who has been trying to get Siri to read
him missed calls for a few days now, only to be told this service is
unavailable right now and to try later. I have never used this feature
myself, so I did not know it was possible, but he says he has used it
often for a long time. He hasn't updated to IOS 15 yet, so we are not
sure what the problem might be.

Any advice would be very very appreciated.

Thanks,

Tali

Contact's number instead of name in Messages

2020-11-18 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi everyone.

I have a friend who uses an iPhone SE 2020 and for some reason,
certain contacts come through as phone numbers rather than names when
he receives an iMessage from them.
I tried to think of a solution but can't find any.
Is it a bug or is there a way to fix it?
I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,
Tali

Re: My SE 2020 Experience so far

2020-05-19 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Well, I think that the very fact we have the equalizer option in the
music settings, not to mention better and better headsets, allows for
a really nice music listening experience. What's funny to me is how it
never even occurred to me to look for such a setting with the old SE.
It always sounded good when I played a song on the speakers. Not the
best quality, but definitely good for the size of the phone and the
sound was quite full.

Re: My SE 2020 Experience so far

2020-05-18 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi guys.

I actually went into settings, music, and then E Q. It was off for
some reason, and once I changed it to Base Booster, Voila! Life is
great again! lol
I hope to play around with it a little more, to check the different
options and how they sound. I have about a thousand songs on the
phone, from all genres, so I have a lot of options for testing.

I did transfer the settings from the old phone to the new phone via
iTunes. It was really funny, because at first, Voice Over was slow and
once I finished the transfer of settings, it picked up speed like
nothing else. It was great!

I did go into the settings of Audio and play around with that. But the
Equalizer settings in music seem to have a great effect on things.

Cheers,
Tali

My SE 2020 Experience so far

2020-05-17 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi everyone.

I got my new SE a few days ago and at first was very pleased with it.
The case I bought with it is very simple but sturdy so I am very
pleased with that.

The reason why I became a bit annoyed was an odd one. When I got the
old SE, about four years ago, I think I didn't need to tweak many
things, even as I progressed with the different IOS versions all the
way up to 11.

However, this new phone sounded odd to me. The speakers seemed
unimpressive and that was not something I expected. At first, I
thought it was the device itself. The music just sounded less full, if
that makes sense. Even the new earbuds that came with it were less
impressive when playing music than their old counterparts.

Then, I decided to play around with some of the settings for music and
lo and behold, the improvement was absolutely fantastic!

All in all, when you slowly begin to tweak the settings for different
things, it is a great device. The size is comfortable, even in
relation to the old phone. The home button didn't feel too weird for
me. And there is a definite difference in the speed of Siri's response
time. Since I stayed with IOS 11 on the old one, it never became
sluggish for me, so I don't feel much of a difference in other ways in
terms of the speed of the processor. But the work in general with the
phone is smooth and quick.

So personally, I recommend it. I imagine that Apple invested more into
making the iPhone 11 greater, but for someone who does not care about
the size of the screen and who would like to save some money, this is
a great device!

All the best and stay safe!

Tali

I've just remembered a friend who got a docking station for her iPad
from the sharper image back in the day, and it turned the iPad into a
screen of a laptop like setup. So you had the keyboard and USB ports,
while the tablet sat like the display, with access to the power button
and headphone jack.

Glad your phone is OK.

If someone has such an accident with an older phone or wants to be
sure, pour rice into a bag or a box, put your phone in the rice for a
day or two and it should be dry and good as new.

Thanks Liel. That's very kind of you.

Kelly, I use English as my primary language when it comes to
technology, because it makes life so much easier! Moreover, it always
takes time until any assistive technology is available in Hebrew, so
might as well get used to English.

Just Ordered The New SE

2020-04-27 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi everyone.

I live in israel and yesterday, different cellphone providers and the
official distributors of Apple here started the pre-sales of the new
SE.

Fortunately, the price is quite reasonable, so I decided to go for it.

Looks like it will take at least two weeks until it arrives here, if
not more. So, hopefully, within a couple of weeks, I will be able to
share with you my personal impressions.

It will be an interesting upgrade for me. I am still using the
original SE, but with IOS 11. lol I didn't have the confidence to
upgrade the IOS...

Stay safe wherever you may be.

Tali

Re: the right hear app

2019-07-01 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi everyone.

I have the pleasure of working with these developers on the Right Hear
app and, as said before, it works with beacons within buildings to
provide information. It also shows a list of places that have this
accessibility feature in them, allows you to get directions to the
place or use an Uber-like service to get to an accessible venue, and
call someone for help if you are lost within the venue.
They work ceaselessly on making it a better app and always welcome
suggestions and feedback from users. They also hope to venture out of
Israel and offer accessible venues in other countries. (This is
getting implemented as we speak.)

Cheers,
Tali

Re: ringtones on iPhone

2018-05-19 Thread Tali Sarnetzky
Hi Janet.
If you use iTunes, you can still sync Ringotnes to your phone, but it
is different with the latest iTunes.

If you have the old iTunes, all you need to do is enter on the
ringtone file, which should have the extension m4r and be less than
forty seconds, and it will play in iTunes. Then, when you sync your
phone, it will show up in the Sounds settings.

If you have the newest iTunes version, hook your phone up, hit the
space bar on the button iPhone when you tab around, then tab forward
until you get to the device list. Down arrow to Tones and enter on
that. If you tab forward, you will come to an empty field which will
say Tones Header. Stay on that field and copy and paste the ringtone
file into that field. The rest should work the same.

Hope this helps.
