Hi,
Thanks so much for all this information
Strange,
I use the same keystroke (VO shift M) to release it.

That is odd about the escape key.
However, you can use the left VO key and the up arrow to go to the top of
screen (the back button) then VO space to enter on it.

Hi
There is a way to do it with a Bluetooth keyboard. Is that an option for you?

Subject: easier way to move apps on iphone
Hi
Right, But the question asked if you could do this using a Bluetooth keyboard,
and I think the answer is no.
When you move left or right with the arrow keys, you can not choose an open
spot, only dropping it on another icon, or folder.

Not that I've seen how to do. You can Create a folder by dropping the icon onto
another icon, or you can drop the icon into a folder if you drop it on a folder.

All that I've seen to do so far is to double tap and hold on the text message
to bring up the copy dialog. Double tap copy and paste it to an email or
another place you'd like to save it.
This will only work on individual messages and not threads from what I have
figured out.

The Logitek K811 is a good keyboard with a great feel.
