Re: A problem with my new SE 2022
Are you sure the phone battery isn't dead? Is the phone actually turned on. The Se 2020 series phones don't have an actual "press" Home button. The Home Button is a "touch" button. Have you tried plugging in a pair of headphones to see if the volume is completely lowered? My guess is that the phone is powered off or the battery is completely dead. DonnaI just tried calling myself from my Alexa device. It rang twice and went to voicemail. Even my other phone didn’t say anything. See if you can answer the phone either with the two finger double tap if VoiceOver is on, or the one finger swipe left to right near the bottom of the screen. Once answered, see if you can do anything. I would assume you already rebooted it with the quick press and release of volume up, then volume down and then holding the power button for at least 10 seconds. Then, wait for it to come back, or plug and unplug it after a couple of minutes if nothing speaks. Arnold,When I press the home button, I don’t even get a response for Siri. I tried just pressing it, and speaking to it, told it to call someone. I got nothing.Jim JonesSent from my iPhonecassie1...@gmail.comOn Dec 16, 2022, at 9:27 AM, Arnold Schmidt wrote:I did not get the original message, or I would have replied directly to it. These SE phones have a unique problem that doesn't seem to affect the more expensive phones. It was worse with my S E2, but it has happened twice with this one. It usually happens when a phone call ends, perhaps Facebook messenger would have the same problem. The thing just locks up. VoiceOver won't say anything, and it is not the volume having droped. It seems to be the worst if I am using my wired earpods, but I have had it happen with other headphones, too, and even when it is on its speaker. I have used vareaous fixes to get it going again. Sometimes, I can turn voiceOver off and on again and it will start working again. Other times, locking the screen for a few minutes will fix it. Sometimes, telling siri to call a phone number will straighten it out. The problem has something to do with the phone call disconnecting, making another phone call fixes it. As I say, this stuff seems only to affect the s E phones. It can go for days, and various phone calls with no problem. As with any problem, Apple would have to have one of them in front of them exhibiting the problem before they ever could investigate it. Re: A problem with my new SE 2022
I did not get the original message, or I would have replied directly to it.
If you flip the mute switch, do you feel a vibration? If so, you know it is on. Does holding the home button and asking Siri anything work? Can you ask Siri to turn VoiceOver on? If it says VoiceOver is already on, then try a three finger double tap to unmute VoiceOver. That problem is fixed. Now, however, my new iPhone has completely frozen. No voiceover, no sound, but the home button still feels like I can push it. I’m guessing the power is still on? I have no idea what to do. I had just finished using Facebook messenger. The old phone that I’m using at the moment still works. Any help would be very much appreciated.
