If you would like to write to Barns and Noble regarding their newly released
Nook app, you can email
accessibil...@book.com

It’s not a typo, accessibil...@book.com is the correct address.
Thanks.

I wonder if it doesn't like the period in your email address though I wouldn't
think that would be an issue. At least I think I heard a period in there.
Actually, I have no idea and am reaching for straws here; hope you get to the
bottom of it!

I just went to the website and registered and bought a book and read some on my
iPhone. I have a Kindle (the old one that they now call the kindle keyboard)
and I do use it some and have found ways to do a few things with it. But
hopefully this may be another development that will encourage Amazon to rethink
their policy in this area. Does anybody know where to email BE to commend them?

  Hi all,

I know someone that is sighted and has had a nook for a while now.
Just to let everyone know that Barnes and Noble does have a $5 and less
section, plus they put one book up every Friday for free download.
Now of coarse, the books in the $5 section is not the most current top 10
books, but they are definitely worth checking out.
And no matter what, you can not beat at least downloading and trying out
the book put up for free each Friday!

This is great news about the nook app being accessible, and I just
thought I would pass along the couple of things I know.

Don't waste your breath, Apple want to be the only place you can purchase
content directly within iOS. You are better off asking Apple to introduce
similar pricing models and special offers to compete. iBooks are totally
accessible.

If you want a more open market place, then I would suggest Android. Otherwise,
it is iTunes on your device or purchase via your computer and then download
directly to your device via the app.

And Apple didn't take that away. They just told the developers, we want a cut

And no matter what, you can not beat at least downloading and trying out the
book put up for free each Friday!

This is great news about the nook app being accessible, and I just thought I
would pass along the couple of things I know.

I went to my Mac, bought a book from the under $5 category, and saw it

Reading is much like iBooks, and it uses the standard iPhone gestures.

Kudos to Barnes and Noble...its about time.

Nook books are epub, but drm-protected, so you can only read them on Adobe
Editions on the Mac or on the IPhone with the Nook app. This is indeed
fantastic news. I had tried the Nook app a couple of weeks ago, and was
 very

Re: Nook App for IOS Devices Now Accessible

2012-11-28 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi,

The Nook app can read unprotected ePub and claims to read PDF, in addition to
its own protected ePub format. I have confirmed the unprotected ePub; I had one
in my dropbox, so I opened it in Dropbox, and Open in Nook was one of the
options when I chose Export. I haven't tried a PDF yet.

Best,
Anna

Nook books are epub, but drm-protected, so you can only read them on Adobe
Editions on the Mac or on the IPhone with the Nook app. This is indeed
fantastic news. I had tried the Nook app a couple of weeks ago, and was
 very
disappointed at the time that it wasn't accessible. Now I'm definitely
 going

RE: Nook App for IOS Devices Now Accessible

2012-11-27 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
So is this like Audible, in that one sets up an online account with Nook,
purchases them via laptop or desktop, the purchased books are in a Nook library
that one can then access and download using the app?

How accessible is the Nook website and library?

This sounds great. I guess a head-to-head comparison of same book in iBooks and
Nook will be very interesting!

And no matter what, you can not beat at least downloading and trying out the

This is great news about the nook app being accessible, and I just thought I

I wonder if it doesn't like the period in your email address though I wouldn't
think that would be an issue. At least I think I heard a period in there.
Actually, I have no idea and am reaching for straws here; hope you get to the
bottom of it!

I just went to the website and registered and bought a book and read some on my
iPhone. I have a Kindle (the old one that they now call the kindle keyboard)
and I do use it some and have found ways to do a few things with it. But
hopefully this may be another development that will encourage Amazon to rethink
their policy in this area. Does anybody know where to email BE to commend them?

as far as this app is concerned, are we talking about audio books, or just

And no matter what, you can not beat at least downloading and trying out the
book put up for free each Friday!

This is great news about the nook app being accessible, and I just thought I
would pass along the couple of things I know.
