If I am understanding you correctly, this is not a watch face exactly, but a complication that by default is associated with the face. It might be one of the complications associated with the compass app. If you edit the watch face, you will find an area listing the complications available for

I use one called Steps App, and it seems to update once or twice an hour. I do get notifications and coaching from the app on my phone and watch periodically throughout the day. Perhaps in Gen 6 of the watch they will improve the battery status so these apps can update more often. Wayne On
