RE: Procedure for starting up new iPhone?
No, the iPhone five has a Nano sim card, so should come with it already in. Your current sim card will not fit, it's too large. This all depends on your carrier. If there is a sim card already in it, witch there should be. Plug it in to your computer, and wait for iTunes to launch. Go through the normal setup procedure, and then you have to go to advanced options, or accessibility, and tell it to turn voice over on. Oh, that's what it is called, universal access. I didn't have to do this cause I set my up in the store. Once you enable voice over, your good to go. Triple click home should work. When I upgraded to iOS 6 on my 4S I did a factory restore and VoiceOver started up when I triple clicked home. iPhone 5 should not be any different. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Kliphton Sent: 26. september 2012 16:29 To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Procedure for starting up new iPhone? Re: Procedure for starting up new iPhone?
Depends on your sim whether it will work in IPhone. Some you have to cut down. (I just got a new one from O2. Suggest you check that. Re: Procedure for starting up new iPhone?
Hi, Plugging it into your computer isn't necessary. Turn on the phone and just triple press home. Voiceover might be low so, you might have to turn up the volume. You can do the setup from the phone. hth Ricardo Walker rica...@appletothecore.info Twitter:@apple2thecore www.appletothecore.info On Sep 26, 2012, at 10:28 AM, Kliphton kliph...@gmail.com wrote: No, the iPhone five has a Nano sim card, so should come with it already in. Re: Procedure for starting up new iPhone?
Hi, Thats because a sighted person started the setup process without launching VO with the triple press of home. At this point, VO needs to be enabled manually. But, if you triple press home from the setup screen as soon as the device boots up, VO will be on by default with triple press of home set up. hth Ricardo Walker rica...@appletothecore.info Twitter:@apple2thecore www.appletothecore.info On Sep 26, 2012, at 10:44 AM, Kliphton kliph...@gmail.com wrote: Well, it was, and it was the same way with the 4s in store, the triple click home has to be enabled, and it wasn't on either my 4s or 5. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Øyvind Lode Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 9:37 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Procedure for starting up new iPhone? Re: Procedure for starting up new iPhone?
My first Sprint 4S came with the micro sim installed, but had to get a warranty replacement because of the volume control, and that one didn't have a sim in. If you start up even CDMA IPhones with no sim, it will nag about it. I had the old one just about packed up to send back when I discovered I needed the sim, if nothing else in Sprint's case, to suppress the error. - Original Message - From: Carol Pearson To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 9:47 AM Subject: Re: Procedure for starting up new iPhone?
