Just wanted to report back that my original idea worked perfectly. Instead of
an Air Tag, I used a product from Tile called the Sticker. It’s a small little
device that can stick to any flat surface and then you can ring it from your
phone.

I love the tag idea! If you can fit the tag in
the ball, it should work wondrously!
I spend a lot of time crawling around on the
floor with my cane flat, looking for the stinkin' balls!
which are of course under the couch/chair/rug!

A bell won’t really work because I need to find it when it’s sitting still,
after they’ve already used it.

I'd suggest putting a bell in it, one that is big enough that it won't fall
out. And perhaps you could attach a piece of string to them or something so you
can also find them more easily on the floor.

OK I’m sorry if this sounds silly, but I wanted to ask if anyone thinks this
might work or might have a better idea.
I have two kittens. We give them these feeder balls where they have to roll
them around to get the food out of them. It keeps them active and encourages
their hunting instinct.

Consumer Cellular is a MVNO using ATT's infrastructure. You can learn a
lot from their web site, for example, their page on phones at
https://www.consumercellular.com/Info/Phones says
Your phone should either be a Consumer Cellular phone, a phone
previously used with ATT or T-Mobile, or
Does any one have their phone through this carrier? If so I would like
to know if they are pleased with it and if they switched from a carrier
such as ATT to start using them, how easy that was.
I wonder if I could make this switch and keep the phone I have or would
i have to get a new phone.
