Yes, I can confirm that this is true. We often start filling it one day and
finish it on another day. Sometimes, though, an item that was available
when you started filling your cart may not be available on the day you place

RE: Question about Amazon Prime

2017-08-19 Thread Donald Moore
One has to do with Prime Pantry, the other just prime. Prime Pantry is only
one choice under prime. I can see where it could be useful, but I generally
order strictly using Prime shipping when possible.

I also use Subscribe and Save allot. It’s a pretty good saving!

Kay, I don’t know about what happens in the US as I’m in the
UK, what Paul is describing doesn’t happen here products ordered with Amazon
prime get individually unless you order nor than thing at a time, in which case
they may come together.4

Kay, beside an item, it will say "Prime eligible" or "Prime pantry".
I have found that if the item is regular prime eligible, you usually see a
date for delivery; if it is prime pantry, you won't see that either because
it's 3-5 days, at least it was last time I checked, to get a prime pantry
box.

What I don't understand is when you are shopping for food or spices or the
like Some items say Amazon pantry eligible or something close to that. My
question is, how do you know what is eligible or not? Is there a site you
can go to just for this? Do you have to sign up for it? We did something
like that on Amazon a few years ago and would order food and it would say
something like box is 33 per cent full. How does this all work? Thanks for

Subject: Question about Amazon Prime

Hi,

Our household signed up for Amazon Prime. When my wife went in to order
some things, there came up something called Amazon Prime Pantry, for
which there was a $5.99 shipping charge.

Niether she nor I can find out much about what this is. Does anyone here
know what the scoop is about this?

Thanks in advance, Keith

Re: Question about Amazon Prime

2017-08-18 Thread Paul Ferrara
Keith, it is a specific program for shipping small items usually.
You have a “Prime Pantry Box”. As you add items to this box, similar to a
regular cart, you fill up a percentage of the box.
Next to the item, it will say, “This item fills 13% of your prime pantry box”,
for instance; if you order two, it would be 26%.
Once you fill the box, you are charged the fee to ship it, no matter how
little, or how much, is in the box.
If you buy one box of cereal, for instance, or some small items, you will
possibly see this; prime pantry items are shown when you filter for “Prime
items only”.

Hope this helps.

Re: Question about Amazon Prime

2017-08-18 Thread Kay Malmquist
What I don't understand is when you are shopping for food or spices or the
like Some items say Amazon pantry eligible or something close to that. My
question is, how do you know what is eligible or not? Is there a site you
can go to just for this? Do you have to sign up for it? We did something
like that on Amazon a few years ago and would order food and it would say
something like box is 33 per cent full. How does this all work? Thanks for
any help with this.

This is answered on the page that I linked to in my previous
response. I highly recommend checking it out, as it probably will
answer all of your questions.

Here is the link again:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/pantry/info

Here is the answer from that page:

"Do I need to pay $5.99 for delivering a Prime Pantry box even though
I am a Prime member?
Yes, Prime Pantry has a flat $5.99 delivery fee per box. However, we
offer FREE shipping with 5 qualifying items (out of a selection of
thousands). ... Prime Pantry is a convenience offered exclusively to
Prime Members with the ability to select items of different size,
style, and/or quantity versus your normal Prime shopping experience.
You can fill your pantry box up to 100% while including qualifying
items that would offset the delivery fee."

RE: Question about Amazon Prime

2017-08-18 Thread Ekstrand, Pamela A. -ND
We use this once a month or so and it has worked out great. We still go to the
grocery store for fresh vegetables, deli, frozen food, etc, but this works out
well for things like paper towell, cleaning products, snacks, pastas, and many
other grocery items. It has cut our shopping time significantly.

Subject: Question about Amazon Prime

Hi,

Our household signed up for Amazon Prime. When my wife went in to order some
things, there came up something called Amazon Prime Pantry, for which there was
a $5.99 shipping charge.

Niether she nor I can find out much about what this is. Does anyone here know
what the scoop is about this?

Thanks in advance, Keith

Re: Question about Amazon Prime

2017-08-18 Thread Jerry Weldon
Prime Pantry lets you order certain groceries and household products
individually (for example, a can of tomatoes or a box of cereal)
rather than a case at a time. The price of the items that I have
looked at seemed reasonable, but you pay $5.99 to ship a box of
items. Each item fills a percentage of the box. If you buy 5 of
certain qualifying items, the shipping fee is waived.

Re: Question about Amazon Prime

2017-08-18 Thread Laury-Johnson, Shawnese (LARA)
This is Amazons way to compare two big box store such as Costco and Sam's Club.
They are charging five.99 per month to ship the box of every day non perishable
goods to you. The box will hold up to 45 pounds of items and once you reach the
45 pounds they will ship the items to you at the cost of the goods plus the
shipping. If you Google it you will find a lot more information about it. There
are some pros and cons to this service.
Thank you
