Re: keeping brightness at zero to save battery

That's Not True, as ScreenCurtain (i.e., Dark
Screen) does Help "improve" BatteryLife on
MobilePhones with OLED TouchScreens,
but ScreenCurtain/DarkScreen doesn't on LCD
TouchScreens: that is "why" BatteryLife was Not
Impacted by a User using ScreenCurtain on
iPhones prior to Apple's AnniversaryEdition, the
iPhoneX, as it was the 1st iPhone released by Apple with an OLED TouchScreen

Note:
Apple's iPhone11 & iPhoneSE 2020 as well as its
iPhoneXR don't have OLED TouchScreens, so
ScreenCurtain wouldn't improve BatteryLife on Them

But it will "improve" Battery Life on the
iPhoneX, iPhoneXS,iPhoneXS MAX, iPhone11PRO, & iPhone11PRO MAX

Right.
Screen curtain won't help that much if auto brightness is turned off.
My first gen SE and my SE 2020, both stay at
zero so long as Screen Curtian is on as well as auto brightness.

Hello iPhone listers,

In the control center, I have brightness set to
zero percent except when sighted assistance is
needed. But, I've noticed lately that I have to
check brightness regularly because it doesn't
always stay at zero. I check it when I think
I'm suddenly using up too much battery life.
Any suggestions for why the brightness would
change without my doing anything to change it?

2020-07-14 Thread Richard Turner
Well, Andy, all I can say is that if auto brightness is set to automatic, and I
have the screen curtain on, when I check screen brightness it is at 0.

When I turn off screen curtain, it adjusts to the room so my wife can see it.

So, my logic says that if indeed brightness set to 0 saves battery, then auto
brightness and screen curtain saves battery.

I'll leave everyone to their own opinion on this one since I'm stuck with mine.

2020-07-14 Thread Duane Steele
Since I began this thread about screen brightness, let me chime in just long
enough to say, that I to have the problem of screen brightness creeping up as
days go by no matter whether auto brightness is on or off and, screen curtain
and auto brightness have both been taken care of with this issue. So it must
just be a bug that we have to check on every once in a while.

I have to say that's a great guess but, auto brightness is off.

Hello iPhone listers,

In the control center, I have brightness set to zero percent except when
sighted assistance is needed. But, I've noticed lately that I have to check
brightness regularly because it doesn't always stay at zero. I check it when
I think I'm suddenly using up too much battery life. Any suggestions for why
the brightness would change without my doing anything to change it?

Thanks Dave. I went into my settings, and auto brightness was turned off. But
sometimes brightness moves from zero, anyway. I must make sure to check it
daily just in case.

RE: keeping brightness at zero to save battery

2020-07-14 Thread Richard Turner
For auto brightness to stay at zero, you need to leave the screen curtain on
then when you need sighted help, turn off the screen curtain and the brightness
will jump up so they can see it.

If you want it to stay at zero until you are ready to manually increase it,
turn off auto brightness.
