RE: battery health

2022-10-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
If your battery health/capacity is really at 30% and you plan to use this phone
in any meaningful way without it being permanently plugged in you should simply
spend the $49 and get a new battery put in. Nobody can tell you whether it will
work for 1 hour, 30 minutes or 2 hours as that would depend entirely on what
you do at the time and even how good your cell signal is, if you are in an area
with really good coverage the phone will use less battery than if you are
somewhere with hardly any service where it will constantly search for towers
trying to connect.

U, What I was trying to ask is this.

I wonder how long that phone will function with a battery that is at 30% of its
original 100% power level.

1 hour? Or, maybe a bit more?

I wouldn't have gotten the same phone as before. The iPhone 8 phones are very
much out of date compared to the new phones. I don't know how much longer they
will be supported. I know the iPhone 8 won't be updated beyond 16.

I wouldn't have gotten the same phone as before. The iPhone 8 phones
are very much out of date compared to the new phones. I don't know
how much longer they will be supported. I know the iPhone 8 won't be
updated beyond 16.

Yes, well Carolyn, you gotta understand that I had the iPhone 8 Plus for 2 1/2
maybe three years before it started having issues like no one could hear my
audio and then no one could see my video and then VoiceOver started wigging out
on me. A lot of other things happened but luckily my dad was smart enough to
actually get warranty for my phone so I was able to get a Phone for only $350
and it’s the same model I had before and I got it last year. and also since I
was traveling a lot during 2017, 1819 and 20, I did have to use my phone a lot
because I had four modes of transportation to connect with and that was going
to and from work five days a week for approximately 10 1/2 months. A year.
also, when I was stuck in traffic during rides to and from work, I would use my
phone to pass the time by listening to music or watch some TV or catch up on
some podcasts or Messages mail, etc. Maybe even read a good book from the

Re: battery health

2022-10-13 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
It just depends on how much you use your iPhone and how you charge it.
I had to replace the battery on my iPhone 8 after a few years. I now
have a new battery that is at 91%. Granted, I haven't used my iPhone
8 much since I got my iPhone 13 pro max. I keep my old phone around
because of all the bard books that are on it.

It’s at 80% because mine at 79% after having this SE2020 for two years and

Even though it’s degraded, Ihaven’t had any problems of the phone shutting down

RE: battery health

2021-01-11 Thread chalt...@outlook.com
If you research best practices for an LI battery, you’ll find the best thing to
do for long term health is shallow discharges, i.e. let it run down to 50% to
80% of it’s battery capacity and then top it off to get it back to 100%. I
think whatever you do is OK though, but you do want to avoid letting it run all
of the way down and then storing it for a long period of time. Letting an LI
battery discharge all the way will damage the LI battery. This isn’t an issue
when you use it all of the time since iPhones and other devices shutoff before
the battery itself is fully discharged. Since an LI battery will continue to
lose it’s charge even if it isn’t being used, you want to avoid storing it for
any length of time after running it down all the way.

According to the Apple website. It says something like when leaving an iPhone
unused for sometime have the battery at 50% charge and check it each 6 months

RE: battery health

I'd swap over the 7 and use the 8 and then put the 7 either out to pasture or
keep it in a drawer until someone needs a phone.

According to the Apple website. It says something like when leaving an iPhone
unused for sometime have the battery at 50% charge and check it each 6 months

Hi,

I have an iPhone 6s plus that is over three years old. I have had it on for 24

Well, I don't know what else to say other than what my battery health report
is, as reported to me by Voiceover. Maybe it's because I don't use my iPhone
for a whole lot like all you other folks. When we're at home I always forward
my cell phone calls to the home phone number and if I receive a text message on
my iPhone I'll respond to from the iPhone, but I do most of my texting from my
computer.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go Rams!

Re: Battery Health

2019-10-10 Thread Mike B.
Well, I don't know what else to say other than what my battery health report
is, as reported to me by Voiceover. Maybe it's because I don't use my
iPhone for a whole lot like all you other folks. When we're at home I
always forward my cell phone calls to the home phone number and if I receive
a text message on my iPhone I'll respond to from the iPhone, but I do most
of my texting from my computer.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go Rams!

You're doing really good if you have a phone that's three years old with 98
percent battery health. Apple says that once the battery reaches 80 percent
that it needs to be replaced. But I have known a couple of people who started
seeing battery problems at 88 percent. But for now you're doing good.
