Terri, No, you don't need a passcode, if you are not concerned about security you can certainly go to Settings > Touch Id and Passcode and double tap on "Turn Passcode Off". Note that you have to enter your passcode to get into Touch Id and Passcode. I find that with Touch Id it is just as fast

You can turn passcode off. Go to Settings and then to Touch ID and Passcode. Type in your code and once it lets you in, there is an option to turn it off. It will ask for your passcode again and once you type it in again, it will be turned off and you won't have to enter it again.
