It works because the party you're connected to is the one that provides the PSTN
switching. Trunks and Point Code routes are ordered to their switch and they're
just letting you home your NXXs on their switch so you are an underlying

Becoming an interconnected VOIP provider is a lot less costly than becoming a
CLEC and it allows you to order your own NXXs and use the third party carrier's
host switch product. That would be the cheapest route to go!

takes anywhere from 2-6 months to get through the certification process
(depending on what you already have in place), so it's not something
that you should wait until the last minute to start.

The RBOCs use the CSR as their internal record of each USOC / rate
associated with the service/account. It is true that non-RBOC carriers
do not keep as detailed records but it should still tell you all the
services associated with each account number.
