Firmware updates

2008-04-21 Thread pweaver
Since 9 April I've had eight automatic firmware updates from Apple. For example 2008-04-21 16:50:43 +0800: Installed iMac EFI Firmware Update (1.3) But the description on all of them seems the same. Have I had eight different updates, or am I getting the same one over and over? Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul You need to go into /Applications/Utilites and run iMac EFI Firmware Update.app to actually upgrade the firmware. woz - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Warren Jones

Bigpond mail problems: FW: Delivery Status Notification (Delay)

2008-04-21 Thread Neil Houghton
Is anyone else experiencing bigpond email problems? Yesterday I was getting an error message trying to retrieve mail from bigpond (other non-bipgpond email accounts working fine). To keep an eye on things I sent off a couple of test emails to my bigpond address. Later the connection problem

Yes, I am also having problems with bigpond addresses. Emails sent are being returned but not until three days later. I have contacted the intended recipients and they can offer no reason for the hiccup. Some time ago there was a similar problem. At that time iinet advised me that emails

Apparently BigPond blacklisted some ISP's, iiNet was one for a time. Should be rectified now. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=958552p=-1#bottom Cheers, Ronni On 22/04/2008, at 11:36 AM, Laura Webb wrote: Yes, I am also having problems with bigpond addresses. Emails sent

MacBook Pro - doesn't turn off when lid shut

2008-04-21 Thread Steven
I have a 17² MacBook Pro 3.1 (2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) which suddenly just doesn¹t seem to turn off when the lid is down. Anyone else had this problem? Is there an easy fix, or is it more likely a repair job under warranty? Cheers, Steven -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List --

Yes, I also got it when I sent my last post (not a reply) to WAMUG - does that mean the problem is now on the WAMUG server? Cheers Neil -- Neil R. Houghton Albany, Western Australia Tel: +61 8 9841 6063 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on 22/4/08 12:30 PM, Ronda Brown at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Thanks to Merv Ronni for these threads - at least I know the problem is not just with my account! One of the threads mentions Internode as being one of the ISPs affected so I guess in my case it's an Internode/Bigpond issue. Not rectified though Ronni, I just got another Delivery Status
