My wireless mouse has been jerking and slow to respond when I move the cursor
sometimes.
I have read dozens of forums to try and work out what is wrong.
I have switched off all other Bluetooth devices and have changes mouse mats
many times.
I have read that many people are experiencing this

Is it an Apple Magic Mouse? Is it running off an iMac? Is it close the machine?
I had seen a wireless mouse that was slightly jerky to a MacPro that was a bit
out of range and a blocked signal.
So that's another thing to check as well….
Resetting SMC can also help with Bluetooth settings as well,
Interesting. I just used a wired mouse and now I can't pair to the unwired
mouse.?!

Yes it is a Apple Magic Mouse.
It's running of a 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon MacPro.
I'll check.
Thanks Daniel.

Ok, have deleted the file. Have reset the SMC. And so far so good. Seems to be
working a lot better. So somewhere in all the actions was the solution, I
think. I'll see if it lasts. Thanks heaps!!

Hi everyone,
Last month I had a massive technological failure resulting in the loss of my
main drive and backups. Data recovery hasn't gone that well so I'm in the
process of rebuilding everything I need.
At the moment the only record of my photos exists in iCloud and in the camera
rolls and
Hi Callum,
This could turn into a long thread but I will start the ball rolling by saying
that iCloud Photo Stream stores at most 1000 photos and only stores your new
photos for 30 days. So you might find iCloud has significantly fewer photos
than the devices it is used to sync. To preserve a

That bit I get, but I don't understand why each device is showing a different
number of photos available from the cloud, or where the duplicates came from.
Nor how to dump the photos from each device back into the iMac.

I should correct myself a little.
Where I've said iCloud I mean Photostream.

Hi Callum
You should still be able to plug each device into the iMac and sync new photos
from each device into iPhoto, same as before.
They will just come as new photos. Then when you import it will ask if you
keep duplicates or ignore them. That will then only import new and
different ones.
Hi Callum,
One way is to connect your iPhone to a Mac with a docking cable and then open
iPhoto. You will be prompted to save the photos as an event within iPhoto.
Alternatively if you do not own iPhoto you can use Image Capture which comes
with the operating system.

Hi Callum,
Any pictures you take on your devices are still stored in your Camera Roll, so,
you can always import them into iPhoto the old- fashioned way by connecting
your device to your Mac and importing them just like you would with any other
camera, as Daniel has mentioned.
1. Connect your
Hi Callum,
Glad to hear you have your photos synced with iPhoto. Once you get the pics in
iPhoto they are saved on your computer (as you probably know) so you don't
really need to proceed with saving the photos on all your portable devices as
well. If you do also want to save Photo Stream
Hi Callum,
Carlo, I'm sure you meant to type 1,000 photos not 100 :)
Just to add a bit to Carlo's reply.
Apple assumes most people will manage their photos on a Mac or PC, and as long
as your computer is set up to use Photo Stream, it preserves all your
downloaded photos indefinitely—no 30-day

Ok Chris,
A bit more information from you please. What OS X are you running?
When did the Magic Mouse start the jerkyness ... after installing a add-on or
software?

Thanks for more information Chris.
Daniels suggestion that it is too far away makes more sense but it can't be
more than a metre. And anyhow, how come it is fine and then changes?
Distance certainly could cause jerkyness, as it has a spasmodic connection.

I'm using a Belkin N300 300Mbps
I have my iphone between the MacPro and the mouse.
I use a 6MHz phone but only just bought it.
You see, I can't even reply to your testing as it is working perfectly again!!
Next time it jerks I will move it closer.
Tried changing mouse mats etc no difference.
Thank you for this link Peder, looks great, I had a quick little play with it
already.

Yes, I think it is distance. It happened again and I moved it closer and it
stopped.
Is there any way around not moving all my equipment?

Can you put the iPhone behind the Magic Mouse, so the Magic Mouse is first in
