Good afternoon all
Some of you may recall my recent problems with the non receipt of WAMUG emails
and that, after exhaustive enquires by iiNet no solution could be found other
than changing my WAMUG email address to one of my two iCloud addresses. Having
done that I am now receiving the WAMUG
Hi Laura,
I forget your previous issues and what anyone has already helped you with.
Another WAMUG member was having what sounds as similar issues and I suggested
that they check to make SURE that all their email accounts were set up using
IMAP and not POP. They must all be the same otherwise
Tim,
This has prompted a look at my accounts (5) , some IMAP some POP. How do I
change the POPs to IMAPs?

Bill,
I understand you have to delete the account and establish a new one with the
preferred credentials.
As far as I know, you will not lose what is on the server - what you are
setting up in Mail is just the way to access and control the material is on the
server.

Just jumping in here. I have the latest Virus Barrier which has so far caused
me a pain and now I am unable to open Safari at all.
I am not sure if I uninstall Virus Barrier it will make any difference. I
would personally not recommend this program. I am on OS 10.7.5

Hi Severin, glad to hear that your wives are happy to share the MacBook. Lots

Sorry, couldn't resist. It would be good if spell checking was intelligent!

The take home message as I understand it is stay away from Pages unless
everyone with whom or to whom you send a document prepared by using Pages has

Hi Michael,
Not at all...
You only send your Pages document as a Pages document (.pages) to a colleague
or someone you are collaborating with on a project (who is going to perhaps
make changes or add to the document).
You share your Pages documents across different platforms by exporting them
All of the posts to this thread simply server to reinforce the principle that
it is your own behaviour, not software, which is most effective against malware

For example, NEVER apply an update for Flash in any other way than going

Hi Tim
Thank you for your email. I would have said quite confidently that all accounts
were POP but further checking shows this is not so.
My MBP shows iCloud as IMAP and iinet as POP. Likewise on my Mac Mini. In both
cases the iCloud account is highlighted.

Hi Laura,
Once you get all your devices set up with the same, preferably IMAP, protocol
for all your email addresses, your confusion will resolve quicker than if you
had five glasses of wine.
It's a job that just needs to be done.
When you are able, follow the instructions Ronni presented
Laura,
These are the hints that Ronni sent yesterday.
If this gets to you, then continue using the same device and email address
until you get it sorted. I suspect one of your devices is automatically
downloading the emails and because it is set up as a POP account, it is being

Just noticed the new OS X 10.9.2 update, amongst other things:
Resolves an issue that prevented Mail from receiving new messages from certain

Would this be of assistance?

I am prepared to give anything a try!! My MacBookPro is no longer receiving any

Hi all,
There was some discussion on this list in May of last year about the Epson

economical in terms of consumables.
If anybody went on to buy one of these, I'd be interested to hear how they went.

Apologise, I completely missed it.
Fortunately, I have not tried to uninstall the Intego software.
My OSX is 10.7.5. The Intego software consists of the following:
