Re: Free Canon printer ink

2017-02-21 Thread Marlene Oostryck
Hi Allen

My Canon MP560 is still going strong after many years of use - and takes the
inks you have listed.
I would be interested - please reply off-line if they are still available.

10.5.7 Update - Time Capsule Canon printer

2009-05-19 Thread Norman Leslie

Hi,

I have 2 iMacs and a MacBook on a wireless network using Time Capsule.

All was well prior to the software update.

After installing the Combo Updater and running Disk Utility as
recommended, the two iMacs had no problem. However, the MacBook was
not backing up on Time Capsule. I tried a number of times without
success. I looked online and found that someone else was reporting the
same issue on TUAW, but no solution.

Then I connected the MacBook directly to Time Capsule via ethernet
cable. That solved the problem, but it did take 37 mins to prepare,
33 minutes to back up and 11 minutes finishing. I have just
checked and it subsequently backed up wirelessly in the usual amount
of time - about 4 minutes.

I hope this helps anyone encountering a similar problem.

As an aside, I have a Canon iP300 printer connected to one of the
iMacs. I can print from the iMac connected to that printer, but I
can't print from the other iMac nor the MacBook. Print sharing is on.
This worked before the update. Any thoughts

Thanks Bob.Got from to those sites to various weird and
wonderfuls. The answer was a 5% solution of isopropanol ( the
alcohol used in windscreen washer kits) in distilled water and 10
minutes in an ultrasound bath - the type used by opticians.

Works a treat after doing a few head cleans and printing a doc with
Magenta, Yellow. etc etc

Canon printer will not print.

2004-05-02 Thread bill parker

I have been trying to get a CANON BC 2100 printer work with an iMAC.

Installed the driver, put in new cartridges and All I can get is pale
blue and grey. I have tried test patterns with boxes of colour
Red, yellow, green and dark blue but nothing.

I am thinking the printer head is blocked through irregular use. I
realise that I can get a new one for ?$100, but for that I might as
well by a new printer. This one has both USB and Serial, and thats
eseential.

So to clean the carrier? I was thinking, high purity water and
mild ultrasound. Anyone argue against that? Would say a 5%
methanol solution be another possibility? Any NO No s?

Bill

My S520 has always worked perfectly for me, but I'm not using a USB
card so I don't have any experience with your particular setup. I aware
of others' experiences with USB cards, though, which have generally
been fixed by moving the card to a different slot. This might be worth
a try.

My S520 prints just fine from both MacOS X 10.2.3 and Classic. VERY
occasionally I do get a connection error, but this is invariably fixed
simply by removing and reconnecting the USB Cable. This I put down to a
common problem with USB devices, though. It's necessary with my Zip
Drive about every second time I use it (which admittedly is not very
often these days). I'm running it from a USB hub attached to my G4, but
it works just as well directly from the keyboard.

Canon printer problem

2003-01-24 Thread Mike Fuller
Hi all,

I have a friend with a 7500 running OS 9.1, plus a USB card in a PCI slot,
and a recently purchased Canon S520 printer linked via the USB port.
Unfortunately the printer isn't working, with an error message stating there
is a communication problem whenever a print request is sent.

The USB adapter card software from Apple has been installed (v 1.4), as has
the latest printer drivers from Canon. Apple System Profiler recognises the
card as a USB card, and Chooser recognises the printer when selected.

The printer and its cable work fine on another (Windows) machine. The only
hint I get is in the Canon troubleshooting docs where it says you should
attach the printer cable directly to the computer and not the USB port on
the keyboard. This refers to the IMac, so perhaps the Canon USB extension
isn't adaptable enough to work via a third-party USB card.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Regards,

Mike Fuller
