Hi Ronni

Sorry for the late reply, I was phone less for two days, don’t ask.
Yep,can’t always believe the packaging Ronni, but problem solved, I'm using the
Samsung Phone with my iPhone Sim Card in it, working well, at least until I can
resolve the problem with the Nighthawk. Now I just have to sort out Telstra via
the Ombudsman.

Cheers Ronni as always

Hi Tony,

You originally said the “Entertainment Box (purchased from the UK, and is
supposed to be Mac friendly) that I am having trouble with.”
Well it’s not really Apple Mac friendly if it’s Android...?

Good Morning fellow Wamugger’s

FYI

I now have the answer to my question in regards to my not being able to use my
iPhone for Hotspotting with my Entertainment Box. Because the Entertainment Box
is ANDROID friendly and will recognise the Samsung phone, the iPhone being ISO
friendly isn’t recognised by the Entertainment Box.

Thanks Guy’s

Re: Hotspotting.

2019-01-14 Thread Anthony (Tony) Francis
Sorry Ronni,
There seems to be some confusion here, the Nighthawk M1, was fine whilst it was
working properly. As it is no longer working I tried to hot spot with my
iPhone, the Entertainment Box couldn’t find a Wireless signal from the iPhone.
When our House guest used his SAMSUNG Phone there was no problem and we have
been using it on a daily basis for up to 3 hours, he has unlimited data usage.
When I took the SIM card out of my iPhone and put it into the SAMSUNG phone I
could hotspot?? Trying the iPhone again,no joy, hence my question.

Thanks Ronni

Kindest Regards

I think you mean a TelstraNetgear Nighthawk® M1

How do I set up my Netgear Nighthawk® M1?

To set up your Netgear Nighthawk M1 as a mobile broadband hotspot, you just
need to install the micro SIM:

Re: Hotspotting.

2019-01-14 Thread Anthony (Tony) Francis
Thank you Susan & Ronni

As I mentioned earlier I’m having “fun” with Telstra in relation to the
Wireless Modum, Net Gear-Nighthawk, the Modum used 39 GB’s in about 5 hours
watching T V Shows. On our House Guests Samsung Phone using “Hotspot’ for 2.5
hours we used 1.4GB’s. A definite problem with the Wireless Modum.

The Entertainment Box will not recognise the iPhone whilst attempting to
“hotspot”, so, I tried something different this morning, I put my iPhone's Sim
Card into the Samsung and the phone was recognised and I was able to Hotspot,
hence my query with using the iPhone.
I am actually ‘HotSpotting” with my iPhone through the Computer to write to
you. Never a problem connecting to our other Apple products,Computer, Lap Top,
iPad(s) or iPhones, it is just the Entertainment Box (purchased from the UK,
and is supposed to be Mac friendly) that I am having trouble with.

I haven’t had a great loss of data with using the Modum Ronni, before the
trouble started, (an on going battle with Telstra), Lynette and I watched two
Movies last week for a total of 1.37 GB’s out of 80 GB’s. Our iPhones have a
total of 30 GB’s each and hot spotting with our iPhones through our devices is
good, we find it hard to use the combined 60 GB’s before the end of the billing
cycle.

So I’ll go to "Entertainment Box” help and see if they have any suggestions for
me. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Thanks again both

Tony

Also Tony,

As Susan has mentioned your iPhone will hotspot, but it will cost you a small
fortune in data charges.

As far as reception goes, that will depend on the area you are in. If you are
in a 4G reception area, it will defintiely run things like Netflix. In a 3G
area, it will still run, but not as good a picture.
The faster the data can flow the higher quality picture you get (also the more
data you will use).
