Thanks to all who've sent stories and remembrances of our dear Barn. With
so many eloquent words already sent to the digest I can't begin to write
their equal. I shall simply thank God for Don Knotts. Thanks for a gentle
spirit, countless laughter, and a life well lived. My prayers for all who
Though I mainly just read the digest these days, I had to come forth and
add my condolences in Don's passing. As many have said, I knew this day
would come, but still sad, nonetheless.
I am so thankful that Barney Fife will always remain with us...and for
our kids to enjoy, too.

I think one of the reasons Barney appealed to so many of us to such a deep
degree was that there's a little bit of Barney in each of us.
We all shoot ourselves in the foot once in a while, so we're each better off
keeping a single bullet in our pocket.

I too am distraught at our loss but rejoice that our beloved Deputy is in

shortly before his ascension; such a wonderful friendship is truly
inspirational and warms my heart.

The world was sure a better place and a much funnier place watching
the great Don Knotts perform his magic. We were lucky to have him.

Andy Griffith said I have lost a good friend, when told about Don's death. I
think all of us who are fans whether we have ever met him in person or not feel
the same way. There was that quality about the modest very talanted man that
lent itself to that feeling as we watched his appearance on
I maybe look at things a bit differently. You see, four of my closest
childhood friends all died before their 51st birthday. Don Knotts
(wasn't his first name Jesse?) made it to 81 and that's great. I hope I
make it that far. Had he died 30 years ago, we wouldn't have gotten to
see him in

To Others that Mourn Him,
I learned the news of Mr. Knotts death at church this morning. I just

We'll never forget you, Sweet Barney. You'll live on in our hearts and

I, too, am heartbroken at the passing of Don Knotts. What a wonderful man who
spent his lift making others laugh. He will truly be missed! My deepest

I guess TAGS is firmly embedded in my
mind.
I'm not sure it isn't embedded in 98% of our fellow citizens' minds. I
mentioned Don Knotts' death to a few people--not particularly TAGS fans--and
everyone's reaction was dismay.

Don Knotts has passed on to a much better place. But Barney Fife will never
die. He will live on in our memories and in the memories of generations to
follow us. Don Knotts created and brilliantly portrayed the most loved and most
unforgetable character in television history.

My son and myself were shocked and saddened to hear of Don`s passing yesterday.
We watched our own tribute to him all day. Wade was more upset than I ever
imagined a 11 year old could be over a man that most kids his age know nothing
about. That in my mind would make Don smile that his comedy

I was very saddened to learn of Don Knotts passing. I thought, what if I had an

think I have watched the show at least 1 time a day for more days than I
haven't.Many people want to meet President's,Pop's or sports or rock stars. Not
me ever since I was a little guy I wanted to meet Barney Fife.
