young lady's
first name was Emma!Needless to say, my imagination went to work on how funny
our TAGS folks would be as the ones in the book! I loved it - but it does show
many, many folks love TAGS,too.

Would love to have a Lum and Abner movie. I listened to them on the radio when
I was much younger. I remember I recognized the voice of Mr. Doakes before I
even looked at the tv when this episode came on. Their names were Lum Edwards
and Abner Peabody and they ran the Jot-'em Down
Just want to wish each TAGS and Digest fan MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW
YEAR. May this be your best Christmas and New year ever. God bless each of
you and your families. Thanks, Alan, to you and your family for all your hard
work so that so many may enjoy the Digest daily. God bless
Andrew, one reference about Andy having been in Paris while in service is in A
FEUD IS A FUED in the first season. He said it while he was trying to get Mr.
Wakefield and Mr. Carter to shoot at each other, I believe. There may have
been another reference to it in anothe episode, I am not
Joe - I thank you so very much for sharing that video. It was great to see how
well he looks now considering his previous health issues, as well as seeing his
home and ranch in Hawaii. I don't think he looks his age for sure. I love his
singing voice and can remember the first time he sang
I always shed tears when Opie gets jealous of Peggy going fishing with he and
Andy, hears Peggy and Andy fussing, then has to confess to Andy what he did '
because someday, you may not want me, anymore, Pa'. The look on Opie's face
and Andy's explanation gets to me every time. There are
Thanks again, Tom, for sharing the Rest of the Story with us. I had never
heard that before and had not even known about it until I read about it here in
the Digest. So, that means a big Thank You to Allan, also, for starting the
Digest, right? Thank you Allan!
Seriously, that was so very
Yes, Neil Bently, I do remember the old radio show 'Lum and Abner' . It was
set in Pine Ridge, AR. They ran the Jot'em Down Store, which sold anything you
might need and you could charge it all with no doubts you would pay your bill
eventually, anyway. Another very dear character was
Vern:
I don't know what curly bits are but my imagination took off when I read your
letter to the Digest,
issue 48. I understand Andy to say current events but your way is much
funnier, so I had a good laugh and that is good medicine, they say.
Just another TAGS lover,

Just a thought or question - has Ken's wife ever spoken to him? Maybe he wants
to hear the sound of her voice for a change. If that is the case, he may have
the chance now! And, maybe he won't hear the iron skillet coming - they are
very quiet when you use them as a weapon.
Best wishes, Ken
Don't recall anyone mentioning Sen. Canfield, Ret., staying there. Isn't he
just the cutest man! Wish he hadn't retired, I would like to vote for him
'cause he's from my favorite place - Mayberry!
Just want to say a big THANK YOU to the powers that be for the Digest. I enjoy
reading it as I
No way, CJ, would I eat snails since, like Andy I have stepped on many of them
- so, I, too, will pass on those. As for going yick putting worms on the
fish hook, I am so bright it would be my finger attached to the hook when I
finished so, no, don't want to do that either. Will be glad to
Dear Allan - HAPPY 17TH ANNIVERSARY!
Thanks for hanging in there all these years. I can't imagine many of the
problems you have had but, you seem to have handled them all beautifully.
Haven't heard of you being involved in a citizen's arrest yet. However, maybe
Barney has learned to go by
Mr. Kessel - I love learning about all the character actors you have been
sharing with us. When you feel ready to do so again, would you please tell us
about the wonderful actor, Jay Novello, if you have that info. He was in radio
making this imagination have great adventures in my own living
