Ray and I attended Mayberry in the Midwest in Danville, Indiana, yesterday and
had such a great time! It rained during part of the parade, but it didn't rain
long and the sun was out the rest of the day. There were people I hoped to see
but didn't, though I did run into several.
1). The atmosphere of a small town built around a Courthouse with people
flocking around Mayberry familiar faces because it just feels like you are
there in Mayberry
2). Seeing the joy on people’s faces as they pose for pictures with the
Tribute Actors shake thier hands and get autographs.

at Mayberry in the Midwest last weekend. Danville's downtown was quite festive
in red, white and blue and the tribute artists were at their entertaining best.
It is always fun to watch someone light up when they see them.

I decided to surprise some old friends and make several new ones by taking a
road trip over the weeked to the "Mayberry in the Midwest" festival in
Danville, IN. This is the first Mayberry event I have attended this century!
My wife and I attended a dozen or so events back in the
Thank you for the lovely comments about the Mayberry Festival!
No one could have done a better job...
My family had so much fun, and my grandson had a blast being
in the Opie-Look-Alike Contest, walking in the parade and having
his picture taken with "Barney" our sweet David Browning!

Here's part two!
Ray and I didn't get a hotel in the Danville area. On Friday evening, we drove
up to my parents' house from Illinois and commuted from there on Saturday
morning to Danville and then returned to their house Saturday night. It was an
hour and a half drive, so it was quite late
I wanted to give a report on my experience at Mayberry in the Midwest in
Danville, Indiana, this past weekend.
My husband and I arrived on Saturday morning in time for the parade, which was
a lot of fun. Maggie Peterson Mancuso was the Grand Marshall. There were
several squad cars, and the

across America!

I'll be there, Janet! I'll be easy to spot, too. Just look for "Floyd"
and that's likely to be me. :)
I hope to see many of you at Mayberry in the Midwest. It's gonna be BIG!

Mike Creech mentioned in Wednesday's digest about Mayberry in the Midwest in
Danville, Indiana, this weekend. I am so glad this is being held because all
the other Mayberry events are so far away from where I live that I never get to
go. But I am going to go to this one! Original
Just a reminder that the Mayberry In the Midwest Festival is this weekend in
Danville, Indiana. For those of you that live too far from North Carolina to
go to Mayberry Days, this could be your answer. Rodney Dillard and Maggie
Peterson will be there and you're sure to have a good
When I first read about the possibility of another Mayberry in the Midwest I
was looking forward to it because I had gone to two of the other ones that were
held. I looked on the internet site for hotels in the area and saw only one,
maybe two listed. The other ones it mentioned were in

Unfortunately, all the pieces to the puzzle weren't able to come

I am trying to make my summer plans and am trying to find out any information
about Mayberry in the Midwest in New Castle, IN. I know it's rumored to be

anybody in our Mayberry circle has any information,

This is the first I've heard about it. I'm glad they are doing another, and I
hope I can somehow manage to get there.
I am wondering how many of you are planning on attending Mayberry in the
Midwest IV next July 23 and 24th in New Castle, Indiana. They are so much fun.
I have attending the other 3 and let me tell you it is a blast meeting the
celebrities and the character actors. And meeting fellow fans. I
Since I live about 15 miles from New Castle I have been in constant contact
with the people who ran the event in the past. As of 3 weeks ago there were no
plans on having the event this year. Maybe Allan can answer in depth but they
told me they lost money on the last event. I sure hope they hav
