Hi,
Wondering if anyone has any ideas how I might fix this sound issue on my
PC. Sound works when playing a cd, visiting a web site. I use Windows
Media Player so nothing else fancy. However, inner program sounds are
either at a lower level or non-existent. It's like the sound lowers it's

Hi all,
I am still working on the GoldTech site and have some problems with the
CSS. I posted to the CSS group I am on but they replied that I needed
to validate my html first. Apart from the code not being mine
originally, the w3 validator keeps giving me errors no matter which

I tried both these doctypes below and the doctype for 4.01 strict but
keep getting the error message. I am ready to pull my hair out! I
don't want to mess with the mark up too much as the site is supposed to
be redone in the near future. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Riva

doctype I use. How do I choose a doctype??
Choosing a doctype doesn't automatically fix your errors, I'm afraid :-)
As it happens you have a doctype on the page right now, it's

Actually, Riva, it never finishes loading for me (T3 line, IE 6, Win XP

fills, then that's it. Don't know if that helps, but...

I get the same thing. Do you think it is because I am working on the

I usually have Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and

hope Adobe realizes that.
Clarification: I know TopStyle Pro is not owned by Adobe or Macromedia,

It seems to me that the JavaScript is causing the page to not finish

seeing if you can spot the problem?
Thanks!

I suggest that you go with:
!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC -//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN
http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd;
Regarding topmargin=0 leftmargin=0 marginheight=0 marginwidth=0
delete it from the body statement. It is preferable to have the margin

I have sent you a reply and a copy of the modified indext.html.

Your flash .swf should play regardless of where it is stated in the html

your main directory, it should play. If it's not there, nada, so the
