[weewx-user] Re: Update of rain data to wunderground

2019-07-17 Thread kar ss
Hi Gary,

The modified command pointing to the weewx.conf file works, I could now see
information about the loop packets that is being received. The partial loop
packets send rain total every 36 seconds and rain rate every 18 seconds.

I will run this command for a while to see the actual update to
wunderground during a rain event. In the meantime, is there a way to
automatically restart the command in the event of the reboot of the
raspberry pi?

For your info, I am posting the screen shot of the RPi terminal screen
running weewx directly from the command line,

Thanks

ss

One of two things.

I did the 3.9.2 upgrade

Found a url (rlupdate.wunderground.com) and wrote an entry on my router to
send it to the raspberry pi. Then I re-entered the underground code and
everything works as it should.

It appears that there is nothing in your logger. Did you try reseating it?

If that does not help, then you will need to call or write Davis.

[weewx-user] Re: MQTT and SD Card

2019-07-17 Thread Pat
In addition to this, weewx may not always send to MQTT every 2.5 seconds.
This MQTT publish interval is based on your weather station hardware and
how often weewx gets data from it. This is called the LOOP.

Some LOOPS are every 20 seconds. As a result weewx's MQTT message will be
every 20 seconds.

Some LOOPs can be 60 seconds, so MQTT will only get a message every 60
seconds.

And so on, dependent on the LOOP interval.

With that said, Tom has weewx running on a Raspberry Pi and it has pretty
good uptime. 4 years 7 months and counting
.

MQTT sends a 'network' message to the MQTT broker you have specified. So
it's talking to a process on the other end. It's not writing to disk

[weewx-user] MQTT and SD Card

2019-07-17 Thread Chema
Hi

I have a question related to MQTT and how it works. I am a newbie with MQTT
and its functions so I must apologize if this question is very basic.
Anyway here I go: I know that WeeWX writes every 5 minutes in the SD Card
(as usual unless user changes this setup) and MQTT sends to the website
every 2.5 seconds the generated information. Does it mean that every 2.5
seconds writes in the SD Card and in the WeeWX data base? I am concerned
about too much writes could damage the SD Card.

best regards.

Re: [weewx-user] Re: Davis... IP Datalogger.

2019-07-17 Thread Thomas Keffer
For some reason, your logger is not saving archive record.

If you are sure you reset the logger (check the system log!), then there
are only two possibilities:

Your logger is not seated properly (try reseating it).
Your logger failed (it happens).

You can check to see if there is anything in the logger with the command

wee_device --logger-summary=/var/tmp/summary.txt

Then post the file /var/tmp/summary.txt

Re: [weewx-user] Davis... IP Datalogger.

2019-07-17 Thread Les Niles
I'd suggest disabling the upload to weatherlink.  I don't think that
should be necessary, but it removes a variable.

Hello friends:
I am trying to run last weewx with Davis and IP Datalogger.
I have other davis using USB Datalogger and all is fine.
IP Datalogger is uploading to weatherlink.com but it hasn't data for
weewx at the archive interval.

How could i solve it?
I don't want upload to weatherlink... i only need data on weewx.

Thank's a lot.

You will need to provide the path to weewx.conf, try something like:

$ sudo weewxd /etc/weewx/weewx.conf

weewxd weewx.conf,* but I am getting the following error message: *OSError:

screen shot is shown below, any suggestions?

[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin 1.0 released!

2019-07-17 Thread Pat
Hi, The NOAA files are not linked to the Graphs.conf file.

The way the xaxis categories works is it gets all available data for the
timespan. It currently is not "smart enough" to know that your database
starts in February. So you will need to adjust your xaxis_categories for
that graph group by removing "January" from that setting.

See the troubleshooting section *WeeWX generates HTML pages, but it does
not update them
* in
the User's Guide.

If the suggestions there do not help, try reseating the logger in the

[weewx-user] Update of rain data to wunderground

2019-07-17 Thread gjr80
Hi,

Running WU RF with a station such as an Acurite (that provides partial loop
packets) can result in some unusual results. When RF is enabled WeeWX will
report whatever it can from the data available in the loop packets received
from your station. You could try running WeeWX directly
(http://weewx.com/docs/usersguide.htm#Running_directly), this will show you the
loop packets (lines starting with LOOP:) and archive records (lines starting
with REC:). WeeWX can only report what is in those packets/records. So if field
rain only appears every so many minutes or every archive record then that is as
often as it can be reported.

I agree with Gary, although I wonder why weewx did not even try to download
from the logger?

What archive interval is your logger using? You can find out by taking a
look in your log when weewx starts up. You'll see something like:

Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: engine: Loading service
weewx.engine.StdArchive
Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: engine: Archive will use data binding
wx_binding
Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: engine: Record generation will be
attempted in 'hardware'
Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: engine: Using archive interval of 300
seconds (specified by hardware)
Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: engine: Use LOOP data in hi/low
calculations: 1
Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: manager: Daily summary version is 1.0
Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: engine: Using binding 'wx_binding' to
database 'weewx.sdb'
Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: manager: Starting backfill of daily

Jul 17 06:49:46 nuc weewx[7131]: engine: Finished loading service

[weewx-user] Re: weewx stops at 00:00 after changing to vantage and weewx 3.9.1

2019-07-17 Thread gjr80
Hmm, no archive records being generated/saved at 23:55, 00:00, 00:05 and most
likely 00:10. I’d say there is a more fundamental problem here rather than
‘just at midnight’. Given this is a reconfigured system now using a Davis
station, I would be stopping WeeWX, doing a logger memory dump then clearing
the logger; in other words following the steps for corrupt station memory
(http://weewx.com/docs/usersguide.htm#Corrupt_station_memory).

Re: [weewx-user] weewx stops at 00:00 after changing to vantage and weewx 3.9.1

2019-07-17 Thread Andrew Milner
I notice the logfile is called debug - does this mean you are running all
the time with debug in weewx enabled? Have you set the RPi to do log
rotation and compression and create a weewx log in a seperate file? Is it
possible your sd card on the rpi is filling up - if you are running with
debug enabled??

More log - as Tom says especially from 2355 - 0005 would shed more light on
what is happening at midnight and possible cause of your problem.

A couple suggestions:

1. You did not post very much of the log. In particular, what happened at
00:00. Do you have any more?
2. Did you try the test in *Establishing connectivity

[weewx-user] weewx stops at 00:00 after changing to vantage and weewx 3.9.1

2019-07-17 Thread Geni
i used weewx with a FineOffset 1080 with a raspberry, everything works fine
for round about 3 year. Now i bought a vantage pro2, i changed the
configuration using wee_config with the --reconfigure option from
FineOffsetUSB to Vantage.
I believe with weewx 3.8.1 everything went normal and the problems started
after the update 3.9.1.
Now that, weewx stops after about 5 to 10 days at exactly 00:00.
After a weewx restart, it's back to normal for a couple of days

In /var/log/debug i found the following:

Jul 17 00:02:55 raspberrypi weewx[14915]: ftpupload: Uploaded file
