Hi Sean I am also a kiter. I highly recommend using Weewx it is simply great software and extremely flexible. I have setup three different remote weather stations each using a Raspberry Pi and Weewx. I remotely control them with Real VNC, which is a free package on all Raspberry Pi's and no port

And now, for some reason i've done multiple restarts and it weewx connects via usb every time. The only thing i've done differently is remove the keyboard and mouse from the USB ports, so i guess that was confusing the driver because there were multiple USB devices plugged in? Seeing as the

That's the one I have. It connects to your raspberry pi with a USB cable connected to the back of the display. No other hardware on the computer side. You'll need mounting hardware to install the sensor, or course. The one thing that I don't like about this unit is the thermometer is packaged in
