The implications are: 1) Either, we should us an existing search plugin (but we need to make sure it's secure enough) 2) Or, we can develop our own secure extension (which we can then send to Barry as well, for inclusion in the next version of Mailman as a core feature) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 25658] New: mwEmbed menu flickers on Safari
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25658 Summary: mwEmbed menu flickers on Safari Product: mwEmbed Version: unspecified Platform: Macintosh URL: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Elephants_Dream .ogg OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.6 Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Normal Component: Video player AssignedTo: d...@ucsc.edu ReportedBy: hart...@videolan.org For some reason the menu causes the video to "flicker" on Safari Mac. It seems as if the video and the menu are racing for the highest z-index while you scroll the menu. You can see this on the elephants dream movie by going into the "Languages" menu of CC or by going to the download menu. The video has to be playing for the effect to be visible. The effect does not present on Firefox, Chrome for Mac crashes for me on mwEmbedplayer, possibly because support on Chrome for Mac is unfinished. First I thought this was a bug in webkit, or in the ogg/video module, but I created a testcase with a scrollable element on top of a video element, and it worked just fine. Thus it has to be something more specific to the dom/css/JS events of the mwEmbed player. Possible causes, mouse events triggering a function that does something undesireable, broken z-index values. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

No, using "$title = Title::newFromText( $name );" and give the $title to wfFindFile works (with or without "File:"-prefix). But that doesnot work with urlencode title, that is bug 14779. wfFindFile is using Title::makeTitleSafe, which use Tilte::makeTitle for the mDbkeyform. Title::newFromText use Sanitizer::decodeCharReferencesAndNormalize and that normalize the " & '. It looks like, newFromText should used for all Titles from Wikitext and makeTitleSafe should used for form given titles. [Bug 23427] New magic word FSTREVISIONID
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23427 --- Comment #14 from mediaw...@kghoffmeyer.de 2010-10-26 20:37:44 UTC --- The purpose of this bug was to get an ID which is not changeable as editing for a certain page progresses over time. Actually I did not know that there is a page ID (wgArticleId) available too. I thought that there are only revisions (wgCurRevisionId) available on MediaWiki, which was admittedly pretty stupid of me. PAGEID would serve this purpose and to have it would be very cool. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 25658] mwEmbed menu flickers on Safari
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25658 --- Comment #2 from Derk-Jan Hartman 2010-10-26 21:55:34 UTC --- Terrible issue to investigate. what makes it "show" after scrolling at the very least is the monitor in some way, because changing EmbedPlayer.MonitorRate, influences the time it takes to get the menu back on top. when the menu is not visible, it is BEHIND the video frame. it's not display:none'ed I have excluded xiphQT, because other types of videos trigger the same problem. I have excluded that it is a core issue of the video element, because a overflow scroll element on top of a video element does not cause the same problem. I have a testcase for this. could still be z-index or other render bug in webkit, but difficult to confirm with webkit folks, because they want a reduced testcase, which is an almost impossible task with this complicated player. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23126 --- Comment #14 from DerHexer 2010-10-26 22:11:26 UTC --- Not fixing bugs concerning WMF's basic policies (here: privacy [and oversight] policy) which could even evoke lawsuits neither helps. You should reflect what's going wrong if people heavily involved in Wikimedia community process and testing new features like stewards, do not any longer accept how major and critical bug requests are treated. Or would you prefer a general complaint at WMF's staff of Board listing all critical/security related bug requests which were not closed for months and even years, probably because of not having a developer who is just employed for fixing critical bugs reported in bugzilla? That would not be a problem, because there are of course also heavier bugs than this one which fit in my criteria. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
[Bug 25648] API discovery information: add RSD link in page
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25648 Brion Vibber changed: What|Removed |Added Attachment #7758|0 |1 is obsolete|| --- Comment #7 from Brion Vibber 2010-10-26 22:19:07 UTC --- Created attachment 7759 --> https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/attachment.cgi?id=7759 Tweaked ApiRSD patch I've done a little testing and enhanced the patch a bit: * added the to page header * tweaked the XML output to fix some attribute vs child-element oddities * tweaked the hook point so we can hand a slightly simpler array to extensions to use. This looks about right to me (though I wanna double-check in a bit), and I can add some sample extension API info like so: $wgHooks['ApiRsdServiceApis'][] = 'barfo'; function barfo(&$apis) { $apis['Atom'] = array( 'apiLink' => wfAppendQuery(wfScript('api'), array('action' => 'atompub')), ); $apis['Twitter'] = array( 'apiLink' => wfAppendQuery(wfScript('api'), array('action' => 'twitapi')), 'docs' => 'http://apiwiki.twitter.com/Twitter-API-Documentation', 'settings' => array( 'OAuth' => false, ) ); return true; } Things to double-check: * confirm all is well with it served as generic application/xml (should be fine) * double-check if we're required to make URLs fully-qualified (in which case it wouldn't hurt to enforce it on extension-provided URLs) * test: throw in WordPress and Twitter API points as in the ext example above, and make sure that WordPress and StatusNet Android/iPhone clients actually pick them up when given the wiki's base URL. [Bug 25663] New: MediaWiki messages should say "edit" not "create" if the message exists
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25663 Summary: MediaWiki messages should say "edit" not "create" if the message exists Product: MediaWiki Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: minor Priority: Normal Component: General/Unknown AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: b...@mzmcbride.com Currently when you access a MediaWiki message in a default install, the initial tab will read "create" because the page itself doesn't exist (it has no row in the page table). However, if you click "create", it will pre-fill the textarea with the default message and will appear, for all intents and purposes, to already exist. If a valid MediaWiki message is accessed (that is, a MediaWiki message that corresponds to an entry in a messages file), the tab should read "edit". This is more intuitive. If the message isn't registered (e.g., MediaWiki:ffdjsifojsdf), the tab should read "create". [Bug 25664] New: Query REDIRECT pages
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25664 Summary: Query REDIRECT pages Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: Semantic MediaWiki AssignedTo: mar...@semantic-mediawiki.org ReportedBy: jmccl...@hypergrove.com CC: jeroen_ded...@yahoo.com I often redirect code-pages to their current description page, and would like to query these code pages in several places in the user interface. These code pages are also categorized. SMW does not permit redirect pages to be visible, so they can't currently be queried at all. It'd be terrific to have a special SMW property, "Semantic redirect", that is created on a redirect page when multiple values exist for the present "redirect to page" property. A default form can ask the user to resolve pesky ambiguous user-initiated page navigations, listing the values of the "redirect to page" property, and showing the text stored for the page. 'Semantic redirect' is used by ask/show as the default path when multiple valeus exist for the 'redirect to page' property. Examples (note:'redirect to page' is simpified to 'redirect'): 1. Query Redirect pages of a namespace 2. Query Redirect pages of a category 3. Query Redirect pages of a property 4. Query Redirect page target(s) 5.
