The Wikimania Steering Committee is in the process of discussing and making a proposal about our changing the process of how hosts are selected for future Wikimanias. We will be asking for the community's input. I didn't update the wiki pages to reflect this. There will be an announcement soon

Not all WMF websites are blocked in Iran, Till now commons is blocked and Fawikinews (starting this evening), as far as I contacted local authorities, they didn't confirm the block, they only said it might technical issue, I am still try to get more information to see what is happening
